Once I believed, everything went straight in my life. Get a Bible, or read it online to help you. Always have faith.

The concept of God is quite hard for some people to put their head around. No....it doesn't mean that you are going to hell....it does mean that your search continues and quite frankly that places you in very good company.

Throughout our lives things will come up and challenge your faith and maybe even your entire belief system. Remember that faith is an ever evolving process and that in your life you will gain knowledge and insight into those issues that seem to mystify you right now.

I would encourage you to see out some folk whom you feel are spiritual (not necessarily religious), talk with them about your concerns and issues and find one among them a mentor that you can call on from time to time. Growing in a spiritual fashion just seems to go hand in hand with being around spiritual people. While your parents are not religious do not let their absence of religiosity concern you....you just be concerned about yourself....their spiritual well being is their concern...not yours.

Let us stat with this: In the beginning God created the haven and the earth. Do you believe this? You believe this by realizing that only God could produces such wonder. This is not a matter of religion this is a matter of faith. Could man do all of this? Can man prevent death since all men die? Look out into the heavens and see the handed work of God many light years away. IT starts with this: God created the heaven and the earth, do you believe this?

The fact that you're questioning means that you have an intellect. Faith is the denial of debate and freethinking. If you are really having trouble beleiving in something that has been handed to you by your parents and community, maybe it's time to consider the rest of the world. Other religions, science, all of them have something to offer. One isn't the 'right' religion. Try to think for yourself, you've already started.

Read the four gospels, and you will gain the concept of God that you need to know.

No, if Jesus is your Lord and Savior, your salvation is secure, there is no going to hell for a lack of conceptual knowledge of God.

Jesus said, “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”
Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. - John 14:7-10

This fallen world makes it as hard as it can for someone to believe in God. Bibles and praying are banned in schools and Government buildings (well Jewish and Christian are banned, all other religions are welcomed and encouraged and given special priveleges). Hate laws and political correctness seeks to prevent churches from preaching against immorality. Other churches have completely lost their way and exchanged the Gospel for money, power and influence. Books, movies and TV shows with anti-christian themes are everwhere. Violence, Satanism and the occult are promoted as good, desirable things.

So yes it must be hard for a young person to find God and know what to believe, but did you know the Bible predicted all this 2,000 years ago that today's world would be like this?

The big question you have to ask yourself is did life and the whole Universe just make themselves out of nothing? Have you ever known nothing to spontaneously turn into anything, let alone anything useful?

Where did thought and self-awareness come from?

Where did our built in sense of right and wrong come from?
After all, if we simply the end result of an ancient mud puddle struck by lightning then right and wrong are whatever we decide that right and wrong are - there is no higher moral judge to use as out bench mark of goodness, there is no creator that we will ultimately be answerable to - so just go and do whatever the hell you want to.

Why not?

Life has no reason or purpose, we are only here because of a lucky roll of the dice.

Doesn't it take more faith to believe that than it takes to believe that it was all designed and made by an all powerful, super intelligent, all knowing force who exists as pure energy (spirit) and is outside space and time, and not subject to the laws of Chemistry, Biology and physics because he created those laws, and we call him "God" because he is God and only God could do all those things.

Scientists who don't want to believe in God have to believe in evolution - it's the only other choice. And when someone wants to believe something, it’s really hard to change their minds. And once they have fully accepted it, it’s hard to convince them otherwise.

Their theory consists of an adaptation to nature of the ancient dogma of materialist philosophy. Although it is not backed up by scientific discoveries, the theory is blindly supported in the name of materialist philosophy.

This fanaticism has resulted in all kinds of disasters. Together with the spread of Darwinism and the materialist philosophy it supports, the answer to the question "What is a human being?" has changed. People who used to answer: "Human beings were created by God and have to live according to the beautiful morality He teaches", have now begun to think that "Man came into being by chance, and is an animal who developed by means of the fight for survival."

Until science can conclusively prove I am related to slime and everything exists because of a random accident, personally I'd prefer to believe that I was created by a loving God and that my life has value, meaning and purpose!

If you would like to listen to a Christian Pastor who tells it like it is straight from the Bible and no punches pulled then there is a daily TV show you can watch on the Internet: http://www.liveprayer.com/archives.cfm

He's not as popular as those phoney Tele-Evangelists, but no one who tells the truth is!

Having doubts doesn't mean you're going to hell.
God is big enough for questions. Maybe if you have enough faith just to ask Him yourself, "Hi God, I'm having a hard time believing you. Help me with my disbelief if you're real." Continue praying that .. and I think He'll show you.

God knows we are human. He loves us and He doesn't mind questions though He may not always answer all of them.. not in the way we think He does anyways. He loves you dearly still.

You can IM or email me if you wish but let me tell you about humanism. Humanism is a philosophy of life inspired by humanity and guided by reason. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life without religion.

Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values.
Humanists see no convincing evidence for gods, the supernatural, or life after death.
Humanists believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.
Humanists believe we must live this life on the basis that it is the only life we'll have -- that, therefore, we must make the most of it for ourselves, each other, and our world.
Humanist philosophies have arisen separately in many different cultures over many thousands of years. Whether or not they use the term humanism, tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world agree with the humanist philosophy of living a happy and productive life based on reason and compassion.

What answer are you looking for? Are you looking for someone to comfort you and talk you back into the comfort of faith and religion? Or are you willing to look at it realistically, and unbiasedly, and accept whatever answer comes?

Truth isn't always what you want to hear.
