If you're question is if you can run microsoft Word program in Linux platform, the answer is yes you can but you have to install first WINE or Crossover or any emulator available for Linux. And if you are asking if you can open a MS Word created file the answer is Yes also, you can open any MS Word created file using OpenOffice Word Processor and edit it then save it later. Therefore, why do you have to use MS Word to create or open a word file where you can also create or open it in OpenOffice Word Processor in Linux?

Yes I think that you can. You will need to install WINE on your suse box. After that you should be able to run WORD. Remember WINE is not perfect, but it does a good job for a free API for Windows programs. Just Yast install WINE. Or use aptget and install it that way. OR Go from sources.
