When an error or contradiction is pointed out in this forum, you will get 5 to 10 defences. How do I know they are lies?
Because the defences are all different and contradictory, so at least 9 out of 10 have to be lies!

Many companies around here claim they are Christian based companies in their advertising. Several also have lawsuits against them for defrauding their customers.

Having and voicing differing opinions does not equal lying. I think saying Christians "lie through their teeth" is a broad statement that doesn't apply here. Most of the Christians I know in person are just good, honest people trying to live good lives. Don't get too caught up in the bashing that goes on in this forum...it serves no useful purpose at all......Blessings!

That has to be extreme. I am not a Chrsitian but if you ask a Muslim what their religion means to them you will get 10 different answers. If you ask a Jew (I am Jewish) why we keep kosher, you will get many different answers. All of them believed by the person answering and all fo them, perhaps right. Even when things contradict each other, does not mean they are wrong. Science is full of contradictions and it does not mean every one is wrong.
It is like asking what causes autism. You can get 10 different answers (some contradictory). The answerer believes the answer but the bottom line is that no one knows.
Chrsitians, like Jews, Muslims, Hindu's and even athiests take things (or lack of things) at face value. It does not mean we are "lying through our teeth" when we voice our opinion on something. It maybe that my answer to something might be based on misinformation and that is also not lying but simply being wrong.
To pick on Christians this way is unwarranted.

Well, I don't think very many of them are actually lying. I think they truly believe what they're saying. They're just misled and willfully ignorant. You're seeing a variety of different defenses/explanations because the scriptures are so vague and self-contradictory that there are a variety of different interpretations for any given verse.
And, as a matter of fact, I don't trust Christians very much. But that has a lot more to do with the fact that they value the afterlife more than this life. And that whatever good deeds they do are motivated by promise of heaven and threat of hell rather than genuine kindness and generosity.

Religion is based on faith - faith being something that isn't seen or quite understood but is felt in the heart. Think of all the religions out there - Christianity included - that have odd creation myths. Then think about all the gods/goddesses themselves... it is all something we can't see or really understand according to what we do. (Everything lives, grows old, and dies from what we see, but most gods do not. Little things like that). So, religion is NOT science, it is not proven, just accepted in the heart. That's fine for most people, but the problem with Christians is that they INSIST that science should be replaced with religion - THEIR religion! That's why they are so intent with twisting things around just to prove that their religion is true and the only true one. Once you try to replace science (proven and seen) with religion (unseen, mysterious, faith), you get argumentative, hateful, ignorant people that turn their nose up at anything not in their "book".

For instance, my religion says that the world was created out of the body of a giant - that the clouds are his brains! Well, scientifically, that's pretty much a moot point, brains and clouds are two very different things. But I don't try to fit logic to it (in order to push my religion on everyone else) and believe in my heart what my religion says and understand that in science it's all based on WHAT WE SEE AND UNDERSTAND RIGHT NOW.

They can be wrong and not know it. So not a lie. Plus the Bible warns all believers that if they cause a person to stumble or make the way to God harder they will have to answer for it.

You have to have faith in your science and the lab coats that say this or that and they have been wrong before. The truth of today will not necessarily be the truth of tomorrow in science. But, the Bible has been right forever.

Funny...If you are right I just rot in the ground and am no more, but if I am right...

I don't trust those businesses that proclaim their Christian affiliations through ads or logos. Besides, it's insulting. We are Christians, so you can trust us! So if we're not Christians, we can't be trusted?

I doubt we'll get anyone to cough up the figures, but I'd love to see how many such businesses have been reported to the BBB. One presumes that their primary victims would be Christians who assumed integrity with the label.

And what exactly do Christians "lie" about when defending their "religion"? If you're going to make ignorant assumptions, at least have some measure of personal dignity and respect by providing verifiable examples. Otherwise, you remove all doubt.

You would do better to trust God. It is God that can reveal his truth to you. No man can. A man can share the truth but only God can make it real to you. Many consider some things which are spiritually discerned to be contradictions.
