The globe *is* warming. The split is on what is causing the warming. There appears to be a fundamental divide that separates those who believe in the scientific consensus that the warming is at least partially due to human impact and others are rather suspicious of that claim. It might be a stereotype, but in my experience the denyers tend to be from the conservative side of the track.

The Earth warms and cools and has done longer than there is record.
the question is -- is CO2 a pollutant and should the Govt. regulate it -- my answer is no -- keep the government out of the air.
CO2 follows a heat increase not the other way around. see scientific chart linked
For all the sheep in "Animal Farm" let me be clear
Conservation -- good
Alternative fuel -- good
Global Warming legislation -- bad
Pollution -- bad
CO2 -- not pollution -- not bad
Global warming -- caused by the Sun -- Sun is good -- do not destroy sun for global warming cure
OK?

Yes it is a belief thing. The polar bears only believe they are drowning. The species that are rapidly going extinct just don't believe how good they have it.The average of temperatures around the world is the result of a false belief in statistics.
The actual cause is the belief that as long as some old book tells you to go forth and conquer, that is what you must do, and do, and do, until you run out of water without sewage and motor oil in it.

'Global Warming' is another term for 'Climate Change'. It is an empirical assessment of statistical data based on the changes noted in the rising temperatures on Earth over the last century or so, and the ramifications of its potential effect on a global basis.
It's as simply stated as that.
Peace be with you.

Either temperatures are rising or they're not - seems like that doesn't change if you just chose not to believe it. But how you feel about it, and what you do about, can be affected by your religion/belief.

No. Its real. All you have to do is look at weather records for hte past two hundred years to see that we are, on average, having warmer and warmer seasons.
The debate is whether or not this is created by man.
