I love the answer "Isn't Lilith a myth" - My sense of sarcastic irony is delighted. Of course she is, as is the rest of story. And yes - she was left out due to lack of subservience.

Last time I checked, Lilith was intentionally left out of the Bible because she didn't exist. I know it's a pointless to try and argue with you, but I wanted a couple of points anyway :)

According to some, yes. Some even believe that Cains wife was an offspring of Lilith. Since the Bible leaves out how Cains wife came into existence. It's all very interesting to me.

The thing that most of the answerers have forgotten, or left out, is that the entire creation story was meant to be understood as a Myth. The early Hebrews, like other ethnicities of their time all had creation myths. All were quite similar, for the Hebrews to claim to be the children of a god was their basic philosphical downfall.

No, because she was a myth and the myth may not have even been made up yet when genesis was written.
On the other hand, women who refused to be subservient were listed, google vashti.

The tales of Lilith as Adam's wife don't appear to have developed early enough to have been included.

I am into a study of Lilith now and I think that Lilith was made a scapegoat for the church propaganda against women. She was used to let women know what a BAD woman was and what God would do to them. I like her and believe she was much more positive than the church could stand so they made her into something horrible.

I wish it were in there, it's a pretty cool story (except for the baby killing).
Well, maybe it's better it's not, because of that myth about her causing wet dreams & infant deaths.
The christians would believe it & who knows what kinda problems that would cause.
