hmm

you know your conscience? the little voice inyour head that tells you what you SHOULd be doing rather than what youre actually doing?

or when youre wondering something and you come up with the answer on your own? example": i wonder how a carengine works...well it burns feul and that pushes thecar forwards blah blah blah"

well to normal people thats just your conscious voice...to them ? they think its a magical man i nthe sky talking to them

i dont htink they realize that they come up with the answers that they ask themselves...they probobally dont think theyre capable of thinking...so they attribute that thought process to god...and voila...god is talking to you...

to normal people thats your conscience.

Great question! It annoys me that the only people answering this are making silly, rude remarks and helping no one.

God communicates in many ways. The message is exactly as clear as the receiver needs it to be. However, the receiver is ONLY HUMAN and therefore mistakes will happen. Any misunderstanding would be dealt with the same way as any other misunderstanding, with a predictable series of emotions and changes. It is not complicated.

I have received a couple of totally clear messages from God. The second one was an angel who touches my shoulder in moments when i really need a comfort.

Imagination? God works that way too.

(Oops, okay, a lot of good answers showed up while i was tapping my keyboard.)

I believe God communicates with us in many ways, sometimes through our own inner selves, or voices, sometimes through others, sometimes through dreams. I tend to see them more as nudges. For instance, if I am struggling with some decision or action, if I listen to my deepest inner self, I will usually find the right direction. As for misunderstandings, I think if we feel God is communicating something to us that obviously is bad for us or someone else, it's not really God. We have to use discernment, test the things we believe God is "saying" to us.

Good question!

I do not know if other gods exist for sure, I only know that my god communicated with me as directly as he could. When he did communicate I had the impression of it requiring a great effort on his part not to harm my psyche in imparting his message to me.

I have theorized that either the mind of a deity is so different from ours that direct contact is dangerous, or that there may be some other barrier to communication (the danger or barrier seems to work both ways). In any case, communication (call it prayer if you like) is often sporadic and unreliable.

ADD:
A benevolent god cannot be omnipotent and omniscient. Its followers may claim that it is; it might claim to be. It might even believe that it is. It cannot.

The Creator/Universe is neutral.

ADD ADD: The god of the bible used to require seraphim and other angels to communicate with man; his voice (that created the universe) was too powerful for human ears.
Suddenly in the New Testament he did not seem to need that anymore (or it was a different god) and spoke more directly. The message was claimed to be voiced by god himself instead of a messenger (angel).

No misunderstanding on my part. People who claim to communicate with God are as delusional as people who claim to psychically communicate with celebrities or extraterrestrials. The only thing that makes the God delusion different is its popularity.

great question....

My god and goddess are always with me, in whatever form they take, and i feel like they are the "random thoughts" or solutions that pop into my head out of NOWHERE. or my conscience or that little voice warning me. i also feel them when i meditate, and i believe they communicate in subtle ways in my dreams and often i ask for a sign about what i need to do and its given to me.

no the messages aren't always clear to me, but i'm human, and i'm not perfect so that's to be expected. there are times when i believe i misunderstood, and then i get ANOTHER sign... so i just keep trying. :)

As long as you posit infinite power and wisdom, all things are true and all things are given.
Little kids write like that. When their stories come up against a gap, they just invent something magical and blithely proceed.

Like hearing voices & seeing bright lights??
No I get a feeling of peace I get off my butt and do all I can do then turn it over to the universe.
This brings me tranquility.

That's nonsense. You can pray to God in petition, but not have conversations with him.

Athiest is NOT the right choice.
Do not turn your back on God.

Follow him and read the Gospel instead.
