It's my best friend's wedding this weekend and I agreed to play a solo as part of her wedding ceremony. I'm just playing in the middle of it, not when she walks the aisle, or when she leaves, or during the unity candle lighting or vows... just the middle.

Help!!! I only have a few days!!!

I had Pachabel's Canon in D at my wedding but it was a recording. Here is a link to it on flute accompanied with a piano.

I am confused as to what are you playing. What middle are you referring to? Also what type of song are you looking for and are you playing with other musicians?

Usually there is a prelude (normally when the families or mothers are seated) sometimes there is a separate song for the seating of the families. Then there is the processional, and a song after the vows or for the unity candle. If it is a Catholic ceremony you will also have a sung responsorial Psalm and sung parts of the Mass, then finally the recessional.

So is she requesting you play a special song in the middle of the ceremony separate from all of these? If you are playing with other instruments you should contact them to make sure whatever you choose it is something they are familiar with.

If you are playing by yourself anything classical will do. Popular choices are:

Air - Bach
Ave Maria (either Schubert or Gounod)
Largo - Handel
