Not all Muslims do what they're supposed to, and this is a good example to other Muslims why wearing hijab does not define how pious a Muslim woman is, lol!

But, just out of curiosity, isn't it forbidden for Christians to gamble too? I suppose she just stands out more than the others because of her hijab.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Hello. It is indeed forbidden for Muslims to gamble. It is mentioned in the Holy Qur'an:

Qur'an 5:90
O ye who believe!
intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones and (divination by) arrows
are an abomination of Satan's handiwork:
shun such (abomination) that ye may prosper.

Qur'an 2:219
They ask thee concerning wine (strong drink) and gambling.
Say: "In them is great sin and some profit for men;
but the sin is greater than the profit."
They ask thee how much they are to spend (in Charity);
say: "What is beyond your needs."
Thus doth Allah make clear to you His Signs: in order that ye may consider.

It really can't be any more plain than that. If she was indeed a Muslim, she was engaging in sinful behavior. As another person stated, it might be she wears the hijab for cultural reasons and she doesn't practice her religion. If that is the case, then may Allah guide her because she is certainly in need of that. We do all fall short since we are only human, but I personally find that dressing as I do makes me very conscious of how my actions will be perceived by others. It is a reminder for me that I am a role model, and I actually find it a blessing for that reason.

I pray that Allah guides you to that which is best in this world and the next. Ameen.

Fi Aman Allah,

Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

Any means of earning money in which a person can get money without doing efforts, and another person loose money is forbidden, in Religion.

Does not matter who is wearing what. May be that lady was wearing Thing like Hijab just following culture not Following teachings of Religion. Or may be that lady was just trying to find out how that system works. But in my opinion it is better to keep our selves away as much as possible from things not allowed in Religion. As human it is our weakness, sometime temporary glamor attracts us and we involves our selves so deep , we can come out of it.

S eek, S hare, and S pread, K nowledge.

Gambling goes against Islam-a Muslim who won 10 million on the lottery was told to give it back,by the Muslim leaders.

people with religion and/or spirituality are still people. We are full of flaws.

I know of Christians who gossip or practice sexual imorality.
I know of good patriotic americans who buy stuff made in other countries.
I know of mothers who wanted to be moms forever, but ended up doing a bad job..
..on and on we go.

So..it's not surprising to me that people end up breaking rules.. cuz I find that ultimately we all do.. and we are all hypocrits at one point or another.

I don't think anyone is doing 100% pefect at all times.

you have to remember religion does not indicate how moral a person is

i have seen muslims who drink, eat pork, pretend they fast, and still call themselves a muslim

they give the rest of the us a bad name, a bit like law abiding citizens really,

Gambling is haraam and is a sin. Maybe the lady wasn't Muslim. If she was maybe she was Muslim in name only.

I have to believe it is more to draw attention to themselves than a religious issue. Look at me I am so holly.
They say it is to take attention away from themselves but in reality it does just the oposite.
Maybe their husband beats them and covering the head hides the bruises. But men in that area wear ski masks or towels to cover their faces and heads. Maybe it is a cultural thing.
