What advice could you give me on choosing my first car?

ive always wanted a
Hyundai Coupe or an MR2, but i wouldnt get the insurance for it..

so i may have to settle for a corsa 1.2 or astra 1.6

any suggestions?

for your first car go for a smaller engine as the insurance will be cheaper. If money is no object go for the smaller car because you'll develop habits driving a bigger car without experience. Constrain yourself for at least a year and the self control will pay off for a long lifetime of competent road use.

Buy a car that is economical, such as a Ford Focus, Chevy Cobalt, etc. Insurance will be lower, you'll save money on gas, and they are more economical than a sports car. Insurance on sporty cars will drain your bank account quick plus the tickets you will receive because of you trying to show-off.

I have a Ford Focus 1.6 it cheap on insurance and good with petrol. This is also my first car and they are lovely to drive

A wee Glanza or Starlet turbo or SR these are 1.3 wee rockets. Insurance is only group 5.
Lots of aftermarket mods if your into that sort of thing too.

BMW Mini. Insurers love this car for some reason....

I prefer a REAL Mini though...
