Everytime a girl wants to break up with a guy, I always hear the girl say the word "clingy." It's just overused now, honestly. I'm not saying all, but almost every girl I hear about, uses the word 'clingy', when breaking up with a guy, whether it be a relationship, or just a friendship. If a girl wants to break up with a guy...just do it. Don't use a ploy, like the word 'clingy'. If anything, using that, is colder than just ending it.

What do you think? Guys and Girls

I think any girl that would break up with a guy and say he is clingy is stupid! Why would you break up with someone that loves you and cares for you so much that they always want to be around you? I love that! That is why they get their hearts broke b/c they end up with asshole guys that could care less about spending time with them. I'm a girl and I'm saying this...but yeah girls are retarded half the time when it comes to picking the right guy to be with, they almost always lose the most awesome guy that would do anything in the world for them just because they think they are "clingy" Ugh...this is why I only have like 2 female friends and my best friend is a guy, my fiance`!

I believe each sex has their own "excuse" when breaking up with someone. Guys are no different than girls. I agree that if you are going to end it, make sure you give a reason, not just some lame-o excuse to make it easier. Some people don't want to hurt the other person's feelings either and think that making up some excuse is easier than telling it like it is. I don't think this is just a "girl" thing however and girls should not be generalized as the ones who only uses excuses when breaking up with someone. Guys do it too and some are so cut-throat that they do it over the phone or just blow off phone calls until the girl gives up. Every person deserves to hear why the relationship didn't work, especially if the break up comes as a complete shock to them.

Actually men and women both use this term and it's so unfair. Just because a person wants to be around the person they're crazy about doesn't make them clingy!!! Unfortunately, a lot of people view this as clingy when they themselves are not feeling the same thing as the other person involved. Take comfort in knowing that it may mean that the person feeling "clung to" is probably afraid to get close to someone and wants to run.

I agree 100% with what you wrote! :-)

Clingy...

hmm... I believe I haven't used that one..I stick to just laying it down and apologizing because i know it hurts.. but id rather tell them the truth then keep them guessing.. your totally right girls shouldn't hide it by saying your to clingy just say "sorry but this isnt working out" and go on with life...but clingy come on..i agree very over used!

I agree.. I guess if you did not really like someone, and they did really like you, they might "seem" clingy. Probably because you don't feel as strongly towards them as they do toward you, and show it by wanting to be near you,,,,then that is why it seems the girl would feel they are clingy, but if she felt the same way, she would be all over him too....dontcha think??

You know what is funny about this is that guys used to say it about us girls and now the girls are turning around and saying it about them...I think that women used to be totally dependant on guys and now they are realizing that they can take care of themself without having a guy in their life...they really should be honest though and cut to the chase and say it like it is...

I completely agree. Girls just use this term when they don't want to be held down or they have other interests.
