2 1/2 years is what i have found to be best. Which means getting pregnant when the youngest is 18 months old. I did that with my boys because the Dr recommended it. My boys are far enough apart to do different things and will graduate 2 years apart but they are close enough that they can do stuff together and have fun and not bug each other to much. My niece also did the 2 1/2 years and found it worked for her. To close together and your body isn't ready and then you have the stress of two babies and to far apart and you have the younger one getting on the nerves of the older one. At 2 1/2 years I didn't have 2 kids in diapers for very long at all.

To me around 2 1/2 years to 3 1/2 years is a good gap. In fact my children are 28 months apart. I think this allows the parents time to give the first child their attention and prepare her/him for another, and then give the needed attention to the 2nd one without being a burden. Also the two children are close enough together to relate to each other as they grow older. If you have them too close it can be a big burden on the mother especially, and if you have them too far apart they are really strangers to each other.

I have a 14 month old and we are thinking about 2-3 years apart. From what I've seen (and yes, I ask strangers this all the time) 2 1/2 to 3 years apart is a pretty good time frame.
Now that I think about it, I guess whenever you're ready and the baby comes might be a better answer ;)

I think 2 1/2 years was the best age gap between my kids. There ages now are 20,17,15,13 and 3,it was nice to have them fully potty trained ,off the bottle and out of the baby phase when I had another one.

We have 3 years between our first two, and then 2 years and 8 months between our second and triplets.

So they're 6, 3, and 1 1/2 months (triplets)

Medically, between 2 and 2.5 years is best. This time allows your body to totally heal from each pregnancy. Personally, I would want about 12-18 months in between.

i think you should have them as close as possible.
I have a 3 and half year old and now wish i had, had another straightaway.
This being because i finished working to be a "stay at home mum" until my son goes to school.
if i was to start again now, i would want to be at home with my child again and that would mean not working for nearly 10 years.
my hubby won't wear that! Lol!
