Start with a good foundation that matches your skin tone the best you can. Assuming you will be wearing white, use some pretty neutral or mocha colors for your lips, eyes, and mouth. Mauve and Peach is also pretty too. Congrats!

I second the vote for Bare Minerals. I know that Maybeline and some other companies have now started marketing mineral foundations, I'm not sure how good theirs are, but I love Bare Minerals.

I also have really fair skin and tend to get blotchy, Bare Minerals is a yellow based foundation which really elliminates any redness or blotchiness and also evens out your skin tone. The other great thing is that it looks and feels natural.

I also agree that looking as natural as possible is best. Try for browns and maybe some pinks. Lipstick that matches your skin tone, more of a berry/pink thant a bright red.

On your wedding day you should look like yourself, only better not a totally different person.

Good luck!

In response to the people suggesting Bare Minerals, I just wanted to warn you that if you have very fair skin with pink undertones, you might find that it won't work well for you. I gave it a try and it was just too yellow on my skin (ended up having to give it to my mom). I'm not saying it's a bad product at all, I just wanted to tell you about my experience with it before you spent all of that money (I found it to be quite pricey, but I guess it's all a matter of opinion). However, I do think they have some sort of satisfaction guarantee if you decide to give it a try.

your wedding day is def not the time to experiment with a new look. you want to look as natural and as close to your usual self as possible so you don't go and look back at your pictures like "what was i thinking!?" (think My Big Fat Greek Wedding heavey on the eye makeup)

If I were you, what i've done before, just for the heck of if even to try and get a "new look" is go into different make up places or stands and say "I would like to try something different but not something tottally off the wall or outrageous" most people working will be able to help you, and then you can always go home and take a picture of it and see what you think of it yourself, kinda of like when you try something on in the fitting room and it looks GREAT but when you get it home you notice things you never saw before.

THey have a starter back for "Fair" skin which comes with a lot of the stuff you would need. So natural looking and wont cause you to break out. I would start using it now, it's great on my skin!

Then you just need to get your eye makeup and lip color seperate but they sell that stuff too if you want

You want to stay natural on your wedding day! I know plenty of horror storys of women with bright red lipstick, and dark eye shadow! You want to keep your face clean, skin tones!

But in the end its what looks best on you, you dont want to look too different on your wedding day, so that your fiance/husband to be wont recognize you!

Remember, you dont want to look like a ghost in photos... usually lighting and flashes can give you a washed out look (have you ever noticed that your face looks really white in some pictures)... so make sure you emphasize your features (blush for cheek bones, eyeshadow above the crease of your eye)... and remember that anything loud will stand out...

Wear the same kind of makeup you would normally wear. Your husband is marrying you for who you are not somebody you can make yourself up to be for the day. Your husband wants to see the woman he feel in love with not some fake barbie doll.
