Ty,
Luckily god is a lot more forgiving than you are being of yourself right now. What would feel better really looking at and questioning your beliefs then finding out that actually you DO hold them to be true. OR. Never asking a question at all? Truth can be looked at from every angle and still be true.
Its wonderful to question the nature of GOD. Do not argue with god if his angels show up in your living room and tell you to do something. The biblical god has not been fond of that. My point is even in the Bible the greatest of his leaders questioned and wondered. They get into trouble only when they go against what they KNOW to be true. Be a student of theology and find a real relationship to god. This is a lifes work to know the nature and the meaning of it all. A LIFES work. I hope you can find joy in the journey.

This is exactly why you have to have faith. Sometimes circumstances and our own minds and even the enemy tells us that there may not really be a God. That is where we have to exercise our faith. You are completely normal. You bring those thoughts into the obedience of Christ and you speak the Word everytime you start thinking these....Here are a few verses to memorize and to speak when you're having these thoughts...John 5:24, Genesis 15:6, Luke 17:6, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:1, John 16:33, Romans 5:1-5 Replace your bad thoughts with good thoughts and remember, His grace is sufficient for you.

Thinking isn't a sin, but you can't keep listening to satin. Believe it or not, I've been going through the same stuff lately. Don't worry, most Christians deal with this crap at one point or another, and come out of it w/ stronger faith then before. Don't ignore the questions; put them out in the open and ask for help from strong Christians around you. And don't let anyone tell you that your just being logical and open-minded, and that you'll soon be an atheist cause that's a bunch of crap. Logic and open-mindedness are great things to have, but not at the low level they're trying to drag you to.

It's not a problem or a sin. We honestly DO ALL think of these things from time to time.
I'd like to think that there is God. Whether he exists or not, I'm going to live my life as if He is watching me. Because in case he is real, I'm going to be very glad I chose to live by his commandments.
Otherwise, the other option is to live like a "freethinker," and what I assume a freethinker to be is also a consequence-free activist...they don't consider what they'll be losing in the end when they find that God did exist all along.
It's a BIG price to pay if we chose not to live by God's commandments because of doubts, only to find he is real...we lose nothing by living God's commandments if we then find in our death he didn't ever exist.
I opt for the possibility that He does and that I will be rewarded for being a good disciple of God.

There are two sides to each person, the flesh and the spiritual..... and they fight each other our whole lives... I really do not think there has been a person in time that has not called out his/her doubt..... Jesus in the flesh called out * Father , why have you forsaken me ? *, not that he doubted, but that he , in the flesh wondered the *why* of it all !!! I can not help you get *rid* of the thoughts, I can ONLY show you the path to how God can help you get the UNDER control, and not let them rule or reign your life..... GUILT is satans' game, he thinks if he can get enough into you, he has won the race....... NOT SO !!!! When the guilt comes, YOU have to face it down, there by facing satan down..... You speak up in prayer, agreeing that guilt has NO place in your life, and that you ARE a child of God..... satan can NOT stand to be faced with the truth..... he will flee from you in Jesus, because he knows the power behind the greatest name ever spoken, JESUS........ go in peace....... God bless

it form of feels to me that the God someone believes in says so plenty extra with reference to the guy than it does approximately God. some human beings look to have faith in a cranky, vengeful, petulant God. Others have faith in a large be sure in the Sky God. some deny that there is any God in any respect. some say God is Love. No, i do no longer think of believing in a God demands that that is a sturdy God, in spite of the fact that many human beings insist that all and sundry which is nice is God, and that all and sundry which is evil is a devil or a devil. i think of if one specifies that the God is a writer, then sure, it follows that each and everything may be the creation of the writer. i like dreaming's answer. i think of of "God" as "That this is." i'm purely a tiny drop in the large Ocean. i do no longer declare to nicely known the form of the coastline :-))

lol would you believe i actually used to think some of those very things? it was actually kind of ironic because after thinking "what if there is no God" i would panic and think "oh no what is God going to think" lol. i know, right?
actually i think that you should let your doubts drive you deeper. you know- search and find more confirmations about the existance of God, and what not.
thats what i did, and it helped me not only to build my faith but want to dig even deeper, lol
hope this helps! im prayin 4 you. God bless

this may seem simplistic, but why dont you ask God in prayer. Ask him for the gift of faith, ask him for the gift of understanding. Pray. and then pray some more. He will lead you if you allow him. We all have distractions and random stupid thoughts, pay no heed, and dont worry about them.Doubts that your having are probably Gods way of leading you into seeking for him. He is allowing these things, why dont you offer them to him who can turn everything to the good to them that love God. I am sure you do love God. Get going, God is waiting.

I think your experience of having negative thoughts about your faith is a normal part of the spiritual struggle. While we have Christ and his holy angels to help us, it is an unfortunate reality that we must battle the devil and the rebellious angels in our struggle to find and serve God. These evil beings are pure spirits, so their attacks upon us are primarily through our intellect and will. Their ultimate aim is to try to destroy your faith, and in my experience they attempt to do this by introducing doubts and questions into your mind about the divinity of Christ, the reality of the soul, and so on. These intellectual attacks are best resisted by prayer, such as the prayer to St. Michael which you can find at the end of this post. If they fail to overcome your faith they will then attack your will, and will encourage you to commit sin. Their ultimate aim is to separate you from Christ, either by getting you to repudiate your faith in him or, if they can't destroy your faith, by encouraging you to sin and thus sever the bond of grace. This spiritual battle is something we should be aware of and in all probability will be fighting until the day we die. Mother Theresa is a good example of someone who, despite her great faith, had to fight against doubt, despair, and desolation for much of her life (this is evident in her writings and letters). The following prayer may prove helpful for you...
St. Michael, the archangel, defend us in this day of battle. Be our safeguard against the snares and wickedness of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou O prince of the heavenly host, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander now throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
