I notice that American adults by and large seem unable to think beyond a left vs right sides war to what's above and beyond such law vs law; such as grace mercy peace and unity from above it, from God our Father in heaven: higher than the plural divided heavens on high.

I also notice there is more mental illness in America, especially among the churchy folk, especially among those who profess CJ instead of JC: the only foundation laid: Mt 1:1.

I also notice there is more violence and violent weather in America, perhaps due to their adherance to rule of law, which worketh wrath, which is destructive and not constructive, both at home and abroad.

I speak such observations for awareness sake,
and not for accusation or condemnation of any.

- Mental illness stats are from Harvard Medical Journal, says over 25% diagnosed and treated, but 30% more not yet diagnosed or treated yet, so over 50% have some mental illness
- Weather stats are from Weather Channel says usa has more violent weather than any other country does
- Violence stats are from UN, I think, which said usa has more violence, death by guns, than other nations

Well, many of those terms could be thrown at Jesus in a way to discredit Him. His followers are as human as the rest of humanity. All of them have thorns in the flesh that keep them humble. But Jesus said if you love Him, you must obey Him. Just because we claim Him to be our Lord does not guarentee our entrance into heaven, because Jesus Himself said not all that say unto Him "Lord, Lord" will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of His Father which is in heaven. Jesus even said that a puny amout of people will enter into heaven, and the vast majority of people will never go to heaven.

The violent weather is because this land has become so defiled with sinfulness and the vast majority of Christians stand by and scream grace and forgiveness while those who are sinning need to be shown the errors of their ways.

The 'more violence and violent weather in America' has nothing to do with the Christians but the simple fact that mainstream America is gradually pushing God out. When God is pushed out guess what comes in...violence. There is a very interesting book on the weather subject called...God's Final Warning to America. John McTernan...you might want to read it.

PS...Thank Jesus!

Mental illness is common among many, it is NOT just confined to the United States. If you haven't noticed, we are living in very critical times. At 2 Timothy 3:1-5, if you would care to read that scripture it says..."But know this, that in the last days, critical times hard to deal with will be here. [2] Men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal [3] having no naturral affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness [4] betrayers, head-strong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God [5] having a form of Godly devotion, but proving false to it's power; and from these, turn away."

Now, after reading that, can you honestly say that the majority of mankind is mentally ill by choice? Or could it be the stressors of the times that we live in!

Don't be so quick to pass judgment on others; some folks are not as equipped to handle things as others are. How are you coping mentally in these last days?
Peace

Gee, thanks for the 'awareness' lesson. You are not a nice person, are you? Yes, let's blame God and God's people for the world's problems, and the weather. Sure seems non-believers solve all the problems, doesn't it? You don't love or know God, are you more apt to murder just for revenge, or rape or abuse and use? If you are God's child, you WILL NOT do these things. If every head would bow for prayer, you'd be amazed at what would happen. People can't see the fact of what atheism is doing to the world, can you? Satan is the father of all liars. Some day you WILL 'get it' and I hope it's not too late for our world. The bit about more violence in America? ok...and if all were Christians WE WOULD NOT have ANY violence. Just my 'observation', ok? No hard feelings?

One of the first things that came to mind is that you will be judged as you judge. I say that only as a thought, not an indictment. I notice that many people do not grow and change in their relationship with God. If this is so then their relationship is not one that is alive. I also know there are as many hypocrites as there were when Christ got angry with them. This appears that it will not change. I cannot do anything about it. I can only change me. I have, today my relationship with God is alive and healthy. I am constantly learning and growing. If I were to stop, I would wonder what is wrong with my beliefs? Why have I stopped growing and changing? Then it is up to me, and no one else to make it better. I cannot do that for anyone else, nor can anyone do it for me. All I can do is point it out, and risk being pushed away as no one likes to have a finger pointing at them. So I just share my experiences and hope it makes a difference for someone, somewhere.
Blessed Be

I think you have this country confused with maybe "Iraq." We may be a bit spoiled and flaky, but our hobbies don't include blowing up people and things, and we don't tie our children to rug looms like they do in India, Actually, these days, most people in most countries are a bit strange. It may be something in the water.

I think you will find people with mental illness everywhere in the world. If you go to a church, you will find a lot less than if you go to a slum and look under bridges, however.
And Christians do not have a monopoly in immorality.

I think it boils down to, many churches do not teach the younger generations to fully trust Jesus Christ, to fully trust in His Holy Word. Too many American Christains are spoon fed a watered down, sugar-coated gospel.
