A b itch is usually in season for around 21 days during which the usual pattern is @ 7 days bleeding followed by @7 days of a straw coloured discharge (this is the fertile period) followed by @ another 7 days bleeding. After the final bleed is finished you're safe.

It really isn't the done thing to take your b itch to a show whilst she is in season. You will become extremely unpopular remarkably quickly.

As soon as she's stopped being attractive to males! There is no rule to stop you from taking a b1tch in full season to a show, but you won't be very popular with male dog owners. If she has been in season for nearly 3 weeks she should be OK, but make sure you bath her before the show to make sure you've got rid of the smell.

Since the dog shows have closing dates for their entries, almost any show you could enter would be held long after her season is over. After 21 days from the onset of her season, it should be safe to take her to the dog shows.

Contrary to popular belief b*tches in heat ARE allowed in the show ring. We had three of our young b*tches at Greeley last week that were in heat and put majors on two of them.

Now a field trial/hunt test is a different story, b*tches in season are not allowed on the grounds.

usually you should wait until 3 weeks after the first show of blood to make things more relaxed. However, there is no rules against exhibiting a b!tch in heat. It is just considered proper etiquette to refrain from doing so.

Yes, If any males find her attractive...STAY HOME!!!!! I hate it when people bring bit ches in heat, or just out of heat, or having traveled with one in heat!!! It puts all the boys on edge and serves no purpose!!!
I am among the MANY that have lost countless entries when a bit ch came in to heat early and we had to pull her.

A bi tch in heat is allowed in the breed ring, however they can't compete in obedience, rally and other performance events.

well me personally, my choice would determine how long was my dog bleeding,if it was a very long time then i would say about 1 to 2 months, but it was a short period of time i would say 3 weeks.(you don't want your dog to go on stage bleeding do you).
