it`s the gas produced by cars thinning the ozone layers cause of global warming?

I don't know why anyone has given Enraged Parrot thumbs down as his answer is correct.

The thinning of the ozone layer and global warming are two separate issues although there are links between the two.

Cars produce carbon dioxide, this is one of the greenhouse gases and these gases cause the planet to warm up, the more of them there are in the atmosphere the warmer it becomes.

The thinning of the ozone layer was caused by a different bunch of gases. Their use was largely banned a few years ago and the ozone layer is now beging to repair itself.

I hope this is sufficient, there's much more to it than that but these are the key points, if you'd like more details please post another question.

No, only gases like CFC's which can create a chlorine free radical with exposure to UV light are a serious danger to the ozone layer, gases like CO2, CH4, and others cannot do this. Cars do not emit any gas that contains chlorine. But without ozone, high energy UV light is not absorbed in the upper atmosphere and finds its way to the ground where it is absorbed by DNA - damaging it -and Chlorophyll- bleaching it and inhibiting photosynthesis. (UV per photon, is not weaker than IR)

The Ozone layer does not scatter long wavelength infrared electromagnetic energy (IR), therefore it is not part of capturing radiated heat from the surface (green house). It does however, block some of the suns ultraviolet energy (UV). So there is more of this UV energy reaching the surface, but it is much weaker than IR. However, I do not know if there has been a study on the wattage increase of UV energy on the earths surface.

Here's a fabulous concept: when you click on this site, Care2 makes a donation that will remove one pound of carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere. It doesn't cost you a thing and every click really counts. Check it out:

Any kind of warming or cooling requires energy. To warm or cool the Earth would require a lot of it. so, where does the energy come from and go to during a cycle from warm to cool? It seems logical some sort of shift in the energy flux is going on that has not yet been discovered.

It's the burning of fossil fuels used as gas in cars, but it has nothing to do with the ozone layer, although the two issues are related.

Global warming is caused by an increase in the greenhouse effect. The increase is being caused by, among other things, the burning of fossil fuels used in transportation and industry.

The hole in the ozone was caused mostly by the chlorofluorocarbons used as refrigerants.
