well i can see this from 2 points i held all my 3 children in my tummy for 9 months but because of c-sections my husband was first to hold them all once they were born

Hubby. And it was a little while before he got to hold him because the medical team was working on the baby because he had passed merconium and was distressed. My husband DID take some pictures on the digital camera and brought them over to my end of the operating table so I could see the baby before we got to hold him!

I was the first to hold my baby. I did all the work so it makes sense to hold it first. lol

with my daughter who is now 5.... i held her first and seen if she was able to latch on so i could see if she was able to breastfeed or not.
