it depends what sort of loss you're talking about - if it's the case of a friendship breaking up you'll get over it there's other people out there to be friends with! however if it's a case of your friend has died that a totally different thing altogether and it's a question no-one can answer only you. i lost my sister in 1987 when she was just four months short of turning 9 years old and it doesn't matter what anyone says to you or how much time passes you never get over a death whether you knew the person was going to die or whether it was sudden. over the years many people in my life have died my uncle two months ago and it doesn't matter if two days two months or twenty years have gone by you never forget the pain of the loss gets easier to bare as time goes by and everyone reacts differently but only you can help yourself heal when anyone you know dies. i hope this has helped you in some way and if you would like to talk to me some more please feel free to email me.

Going through that right now. It takes time. Just keep busy constructively. Doing something kind for someone else is the best "high." Replacing a long-time friend - not so easy, but possible.
