My son is almost 9yrs old. His last sneakers were a size 6 in the upper kids sizes. Where do you go from here? Most kids shoe sizes stop at 6 or 6 1/2. The men's shoe sizes don't start until about 8 or 9. Is there something inbetween I'm missing...like a juniors or something? Thanks for the help.

There are the sizes in-between, there just aren't a ton of them.

If you're buying his shoes in a store that is a kind of catch-all store (Walmart, Target) or even a department store (Sears, JC Penney, Dillards, Goody's), try taking him to JUST a shoe store. The people that work there are actually trained just in shoes, and they have a wider selection, because the whole store is shoes, instead of one little section.

I never noticed a gap in shoe sizes when I was younger... maybe it's the particular brand or style of shoes that you're looking at.

Just go to a decent shoe store where they'll be able to size his feet & get you the correct size for your son. Most have shoes in just about every "regular" size you'll need.

My fiance wears a 7 1/2 in men. There are 7's out there just harder to find. I would ask someone at a shoe store. I just bought my son 5 1/2 shoes for school. He's 9.

I don't know what store you are shoping at but Men sizes go much smaller. I believe I have seen 6 before.

no gap at walmart. They go from 1 to 13 there is no gap in sections that i noticed. My son is 5 years old and just hit size 1. I know it goes 0-13 in kids size then starts all over again with 1-13 again.

There are mens size 6...just harder to find...Very hard if he is wanting the "skater" type shoes...I found some at Zumies (is that spelled right??) They carry "Fallen", Vans, and DC brands...others also I believe...
Might be better off ordering online if you know exact size...

Go to a proper shoe store and use the foot measuring tool. Shoe sizes are chaotic.
