To project thier beliefs in GOD so much in this upcoming presidential election? I was not a huge fan of voting for President Bush but I did respect him for standing up to his beliefs in GOD unlike Clinton who just lied constantly...

If People thought Atheism was good for humanity better than the gift of a true loving GOD, atheism would of prevailed years ago but nothing has ever taken the place of one TRUTH *GOD* is the hope for every human being, that is why atheism will always be a small group or sect, it has nothing to offer but a one liner-GOD does not exsist.
Do you think Jesus would of came to earth if people loved there fellow human beings? they were concerned about obeying laws not love for the people, they did not think deserved it, just like today.. It's easy to love people we think are deserving but could you ever love someone who killed your child your parent? Jesus can.

Nobody can love the dredge of society if they could then we would live in a perfect world.

Atheists aren't interested in showing love and kindness to everyone.

Where do I begin?

Clinton only lied about a blow.job. Thousands of soldiers did not die because of his lie, unlike that fundie idiot Bush's lies.

Atheism is just now growing rapidly, and do you know why? Bush has brought the ignorance of religion, specifically the buy-bull, to the attention of the people.

Jesus was a rabbi named Yeshua ben Yoseph. This beloved rabbi was used by Paul to create a Christ using the story of Mithra to fabricate a virgin birth, resurrection etc.

You have no idea what Jesus could or could not do. You have no idea what God thinks or said about anything. You have the fairy tales created by men.

I thank G.W. for bringing the true nature of Christianity to the attention of all the American people.

You just totally (and quite ignorantly might I add) generalized and stereotyped Atheists, Democrats, and Christians. Not only did you generalize and stereotype, but you certainly seem to be judging as well. As a Christian, I believe you aren't supposed to be doing that---it's called hypocrisy.

A couple other points...

There are plenty of Democrats who actually are very good Christians---I don't know what right wing propaganda made you think otherwise. You can believe in Jesus regardless of your political party---hello!

Secondly, Athiests have chosen their spiritual path for themselves; it doesn't make them any less a person than you. It is their belief, not yours, so you don't need to worry about it.

And as far as George Bush's beliefs...they have started a war, helped the entire world hate the U.S., combined church and state, stripped basic human rights from the American public, and seem to have made him drunk on power. That's not good Christianity in my opinion. That is corrupted self-serving Christianity the way I view it.

Is that a question?

You think democrats are athiests?

The democrats are walking a tightrope between supporting the constitutional division between church and state and trying to gain votes from a country that is overwhelmingly religious. Bush just went ahead and brought the religion in, but politically and ethically that is wrong.

We are not a theocracy. We are a democracy. Religion has no place in government. There has to be a separation between logical behavior in politics and science and open support for one particular relgion. If we allow religion to dictate policy we are headed for the same thing that people are fighting about in the middle east.

I don't want to be told what to believe by my legal system.
Do you?

explain how atheism could have prevailed when the majority of folks are religious...

u do know and understand what a democracy is dont u?

if u have 5 people in class who think A is better than B, and u have 15 in class that think B is better than A. then in a vote, the B will always win. what im saying is, yes many atheists think this, but they are still outvoted by christians and others.

granted, i have yet to ever see a candidate for presidency who proclaimed atheism.

and in my honest opinion, a man who kills ur child is not worthy of your love.

how is atheism a small sect?i find it very prevalent in todays society.

also, your thing about jesus assumes that we accept Jesus was the son of God, when in fact many of us do not. A man comes to earth every day.its called birth.

Clinton isnt such a villian.sure he lied all the time, but he got us out of debt, which is something your Mr. Bush certainly did not.

Hey, heard of that place called NOT America? We're not Christian. Europe is mostly secular. Other countries called things like "India", "Indonesia" and "China" each have populations four times the size of the USA and are almost completley non-Christian.

Christianity is the sect. Most of the planet isn't Christian. Get used to it.

And wasn't loving the "dredge" (you mean dregs) of society considered a virtue by someone called, er, Jesus Christ?

Moron.

The religious right has a strangle hold on the American politics. It is difficult to get elected without their votes, and they generally vote based on issues that have little to nothing to do with policy. They vote morality. Atheist are a tiny minority in the American population. We simply can not make a big splash. Further, we tend to not think collectively. Rather we are individuals with differing opinions.

Idiot. I suppose Nancy Pelosi's prayer in Congress was just a side effect of her atheism?

Didn't realize that the atheists of western Europe were the dredge of society, as they helped create some of the most progressive societies in the world.

Love the dredge of society?? What kind of propaganda have you been sipping on?

Also, if god doesn't exist, that doesn't change the fact that Americans as a whole think like this...

No belief in god = ungodliness = sinful = evil = destructive
