I was wondering if I can just go to the pharmacy at Wal-Mart and pick some up, and also how much does it cost? I have a two year old son and a fourteen month old daughter, and between college, work, recently buying a house, etc. I just am NOT in the position to have another baby right now! My daughter is breastfed and I have only recently gotten my periods back. Don't know if I'm even ovulating, but the condom broke and I'm turning to this as a last resort. I don't believe in abortions but I am not against preventing the union of a sperm and egg if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.

Azmomma, you ARE clueless. First off, I'm married and married people have sex. Get over it. Secondly, I KNOW that this can be obtained over the counter, I was just wondering WHERE and HOW MUCH.

Though the Plan B package says only take it within 72 hours of sex, it is actually somewhat efficacious up to 5 days.
Plan B works by stopping contraception or implantation.
At Walgreens, Plan B costs about $45.

AZMomma has no clue. Call Wal-mart in advance to make certain that they have it available. No prescription is required, but I know a bunch of states sued Walmart because originally they refused to carry it. If you can't find it there or Walgreens, stop at the emergency room at your local hospital and ask.

If all else fails, call your doctors office and explain the situation. There are at least 10 different brands of birth control pills that can be used as a morning after pill. You can then pick up a script and go to the drug store.

Okay. Plan B is only good if you take it within 72 hours of having up sex. It was a while since you had sex then you may be to late. You have to think about it. See what your doctor say.

Please listen to yourself.... you have a two year old and a 14 month old and you are NOT in the position to have another baby right now.. SO STOP HAVING SEX!

My gosh, is it that hard to do? If you can't handle another child then don't do anything to risk having one.

As for the pill... it's by prescription so you are going to need to see a doctor to get it. Not sure of the cost but you can call the drugstore and find out.
