I want to know the cost of extras (ie: alcohol, soda, etc). Is there anywhere I can find such a list so I can calculate my budget before leaving so I bring enough money to cover everything.

Here is a list of some of the "extras"....with exception to tips, everything else is optional....

- Be sure your travel agent includes the port fees and taxes in any quote you get for your cabin.

- Don't use the on-board ship to phone home! It is $7.00 per minute!

- They offer internet service by the minute but we did not use it.

- Tips. $10 per day per guest.

- Bar drinks. $4-12 each plus 15% gratutity.

- Sodas. $1.75 per can or a soda fountain card for unlimited glasses. $35-45 per person depending on length of cruise and age of guest. Pays for itself if you drink 3 sodas a day.

- Gourment coffee and pastries. $3-10 each.

- Photos. $20-22 per sheet.

- Bingo - $5-10 per card.

- Spa. $50-200 per service.

- Shore excursions. $50-200 per person per excursion.

- Casino. ????

- Tips for luggage porters. $1.00 per bag. A great investment when de-barking. They will help expedite you through customs.

- Parking fees at port (call your local port authority) or taxi money to port.

- Be sure to include money for shopping in-port. Take your money in $1 , 5 and 10 in US dollars. You may also need money for taxis while in port, depending on what you want to do. Plus money to tip the shore excursion personnnel.

Keep in mind...Carnival is a cashless system. You set up an account when you board for your incidental expenses. You can tie the accoun to a credit card or make a cash deposit.

When you meet you cash deposit, Carnival leaves a note in your cabin that you need to add more money to your account to continue to charge.

My sister always uses a cash account so she does not go over budget.

If you go to their website www.Carnival.com you will find much info.

For the updated "skinny" go to the best cruise website on the 'net.....www.cruisecritic.com. They have separate boards for each cruise line and you will find everything you are looking for including copies of dining menus, bar menus, pictures of the ships, staterooms, public areas.

Have a GREAT time.....I love to cruise and have over 100 under my belt. Carnival is a very good line...you will have a blast.
