They will be using the very same COT chassis that they have had success with this year. You will find that it will be much like the engine development that Penske did in 1994 on the Mercedes engine for the Indy 500. The engine was a Mercedes in name alone, where the name rights was sold to them, and Gibbs will be building their own engines inhouse with the assistance and money of Toyota. Hey look at how Toyota dominated the truck series in no time at all. Gibbs got in at the right time, and I think it is a perfect fit.

I'm a Tony Stewart fan and I will be very disappointed if Joe Gibbs Racing signs a deal with Toyota. Chevys have dominated the cup series this year, and Toyota has, how do I say it, SUCKED!
If JGR does go to rice burners, I hope Tony & Zippy will start a new team of their own with Chevrolet, and maybe bring Denny with them. Or, they could drive for Dale Jr.s JR Motorsports.

Joe Gibbs knows he can win with anything. Toyota hasn't been a winner yet because they don't have anyone worth a damn, or a team worth a damn. Now w/ JGR, and H.O.F. racing in the mix... Look for something to look up for the BOTH teams. Yota gets his first win next season w/ JGR, hands down. Probably in the Daytona 500, w/ Tony freakin' Stewart.

I'm JGR fan, but I hate to see then go to Toyota. They will get there first win for them also. They also will be the #1 team in Toyota camp. What the cot all will be the same anyway,so it really not going to make any different what they drive. Beside JGR has the best engine builder in the sport.

Best part is all you "Smoke" fans have to start cheering for a rice-burner now! HA HA!
First Jr. to Hendrick now Stewart to Toys, Gosh this year couldn't go any better unless Rousch switches to Chevy's before we are done!!!

IT will be only a matter of time before Toyota is winning in nascar. they make a far Superior car on the road and after a couple of years they will start winning regularly.

Sounds like it's a possibility. Personally I have a hard time with that decision but my name isn't Gibbs.

Yeah. Sure he knows something. He knows how much money toyota's going to give him to switch over from chevy and bring all of their race knowledge with him. I hope chevy doesnt help them for the rest of the season. Just like all other good things, someone always has to ruin it. THANKS BRIAN FRANCE!

I am guessing that they have known this for a while and already have people working on the motors and testing. Joe's not a dummy, he knows what he is doing.

Personally..it stinks on ice....I can't imagine Tony or Denny in a Camry...much less the sponsors being delighted with it...Joe Gibbs did it for one reason...buckets of cash....and it's a sad deal........
