I've suffered from IBS for over ten years and what I found that turned around the pain and suffering is changing my way of eating. You have to eliminate all fried and fatty foods from your diet. These are the number one irritants to IBS.
As a general rule, the grain and cereal foods at the top of this list make the safest, easiest, and most versatile soluble fiber foundations for your meals and snacks.
Rice, Pasta and noodles, Oatmeal, Barley, Fresh white breads such as French or sourdough (NOT whole wheat or whole grain)* Rice cereals, Flour tortillas, Soy, Corn meal, Potatoes, Carrots, Yams, Sweet potatoes, Turnips, Beets, Squash and pumpkins, Mushrooms, Chestnuts, Avocados (though they do have some fat), Bananas, Applesauce, Mangoes, Papayas (also digestive aids that relieve gas and indigestion)
*Please choose a baked-daily, high quality, preservative-free brand. White bread does not mean Wonder.
By changing my way of eating I no longer have to take medication. I've enclosed a link to the best website I have ever found on IBS. Read every page and you will learn a great deal about what you can do to reverse this condition.

try mixing light corn syup only 1 table spoon with every 4 oz of milk I don't believe juice is you best choice right now also try some pedialite no flavor this is what i had to do with my daughter she went a week with out a bowel movement and she seemed like she was in pain as well and the doctor in the emergency room said that it was normal kids can go two week and be fine. also try a glyseren suposatory sounds gross I know but after you stick that up there but the poop will be out in less than 15 mins I promise and there will be a lot. And you will feel better and so wont your child but only get the pediatrion size suposatory and only use them if it is hurting them to go and hasn't gone for more than 3 days

Pain killers don't work for IBS very well. I have a prescription for Nulev. Great stuff. I call it Rolaids on Steroids (though there are NO steriods in it, just my way of describing how well it works!)
Try asking your doctor.
