They are pseudo-atheists my friend. Your questions are valid. Their responses shallow. God bless.

1. I believe in world history; but have a hard time believing the recorded facts. It was once recorded that the Earth was flat...I guess science proved that fact wrong...
2. Yes, but again I have to question the legitimacy of certain facts.
3. I believe the recorded history of the Egyptian dynastic periods, but I do not believe the "pre-recorded" history, i.e. that theories that many orthodox Egyptologists have adopted. There is no real recorded history predating dynastic Egypt.
4. All recorded historical events about any area's past irritates, riles and exasperates me if there is no solid proof.
I cannot consider the Bible to be solid proof of a super human. It is a book, plain and simple, written by man and man alone. Just like Steven King's novels, or The Cat in the Hat. Do you think 2000 years from now, the Cat in the Hat might be the new Bible, considering the peoples from 2000 years from now won't know for a fact if a God wrote it or not?
Hmmmm.....

1. I have read world history...have you? I believe that history is written by the winners...and usually the losers have a more accurate account. I believe that world history, on almost every level, has been rewritten to some extent so as to make it more palletable for the audience it is written for.
2. I do believe in recorded past events about American history, since it is many times accounted for by several sources, and mostly sources that are not all on the same side of the issue. I do NOT believe in some of the history that has been documented. I do NOT believe, for example, that our Manafest Destiny was to rob the native population of their land and way of life...especially in the view of a "Christian" society.
3. I believe some of the ancient Egyptian history, but it's hard to believe all of it...for example, their history says that their Gods created their civilization...Ra, Horus, Osirus, etc. Do you believe their history?
4. Recorded historical events of Israel are not in any way bothering me. The use of that history to form a relgion that I am expected to adhere to, though, is bothersome. In addition...do you not accept the historical events around Israel's past? Why aren't you an orthodox Jew? Perhaps you are...
I don't think you can compare historical events that are confirmed via different sources, to those that are not necessarily so. Especially when those versions actually conflict within the same document...

1. Do you believe in world history? Yes, but not blindly... there are two sides to every story... and history is usually "written" by the winning side or "majority".... so i tend to take things with a grain of salt
2. Do you believe in any recorded past events about American history? See above
3. Do you believe in any recorded past events about Egyptian history? See #1
4. Why do the recorded historical events about Israel's past irritate, rile and exasperate you? If you are referring to the bible as being a "record" of historical events, i would say that you are a fool. It "irritates, riles and exasperates" me because it is OBVIOUSLY a work of fiction that may be based on historical events... but it's mythology is blatant plagiarism from other cultures and religions. It also irritates me that there are so many fools in this world who take that book as 100% truth. To believe ANYTHING you see, hear, or read and accept it as 100% truth is absolutely foolish. Whether the subject matter be politics, religion, world history.... You shouldn't believe everything you hear.... and think of it as a sales pitch.... if it sounds too good to be true... it probably is.... because that's all religions do... like christianity.... they try to "sell" their ideas to you so they can get that 10% of your income as a tithe to the church.
So..... don't you sit there all high and mighty.... claiming that your ONE book has all the answers and compare it to all recorded history. At least the history that has been recorded can change based on new facts or discoveries... while the bible beaters can't even make up their own minds whether they should take the bible as "the word" or accept it as a bunch of analogies to teach lessons. You are a confused bunch of people.

Oh, dear.
I'll answer only 4.
The "recorded historical events about Israel's past irritate, rile and exasperate" me only insofar as the recorded historical events about Troy's past in the form of the Oddysey irritates, riles and exasperates me: it doesn't. But if someone attempted to tell me that just because Troy was found by using it, I must accept that the Olympians are heavily involved in the affairs of men, I will be pretty damned annoyed by their gullibility. If they then tried to legislate morality dictated in the Homeric epic because of it's infallibility and divine origins, I would indeed become irritated, riled and exasperated.

What is an 'Aethist,' please enlighten me, as for your questions:
1.) Yes
2.) Yes
3.) Yes
4.) Yes
Now, what does this have to do with trying to convert us? World history, we evolved from a common ancestor from apes, there were a few wars with America...the pyramids of Egypt, and the recorded historical events of Israel does not irritate, rile, and exasperate me, I just don't think that any sort of god was involved in any of that, why does that irritate, rile, and exasperate you?

What is an Aethist? I've never heard of them before...
But as an atheist, I have taken classes in World History, and put some stock in it. Of corse it's biased, since it was written by the winners, but there are facts in there.
And I've taken American History. It's even more silly than world history. I've never taken Egyptian history. I didn't major in history, though, so it makes sense that I haven't.

since the major schools of archaeology dropped their official policy of non-acceptance of evidence that doesn't correspond with the bible, we've seen many findings that do in fact discount bible stories. for instance, there is no egyptian record that there were ever hebrew slaves in their empire. instead there is an aside mention of a nomadic tribe called the "haibru" that lived within the borders of the egyptian empire.
So I guess to answer your questions:
yes, as the archaeological record presents it
yes, to an extent
yes, again as the record shows
and no, why would I be exasperated by israeli history?

The record of history is not a problem to me. Much of it has been archaeologically confirmed.
The attribution of the Hebrew's victories to their deity, and the claim that a true messiah was born are unsubstantiated. There is also much in the bilbe that has been proven wrong.
There is more historical fact in the Odyssey and the Iliad than in the bible. Does that make Zeus, Aphrodite, and all the Greek gods real?
Your God is a myth along with all the other gods and goddesses that have been worshiped over the years. Get over it.

I will answer #4 since that is the subject of your question.
They do not irritate me, but the fact that there were at least 4 authors of the OT will probably irritate you. Also while there is history intermingled with theology your question attempts to claim the theology as history also shows your bias and ignorance of the history contained in the Torah.

Heh, "aethists". Well that's a new misspelling.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Because religious texts are not history books, and history is questionable when it has very few (if one) source of information and no eye-witness accounts.
Thanks for playing!
