I drink far more diet sodas than water. Are sodas the same in water content?

No no no. Diet sodas are terrible for you. They just don't have the sugar that regular sodas do. They usually have more caffeine than regular soda too, which further dehydrates you because it's a diuretic. Nothing can replace water. You need at least some water in your diet. Sodas have acids and other chemicals that are harmful to you.

actually, diet soda is supposed to like stunt your growth or something. and the only thing i have to say is, if you want some soda and are already rotting your teeth with diet, just go the whole mile and drink the real stuff! just drink it less. and, water is the best thing to hydrate your body. it washes out all the bacteria and crap out of your body. well, thats what my aunt says anyway, and she's a nurse!

(:

unfortunately no, diet soda contains an enormous amount of sodium, read the label, and will cause water retention, which is not what you want if you are trying to lose weight. There really is no replacement for good old fashioned plain water.

The amount of water is the same in a 500ml soda or water bottle. But any soda actually causes you to lose body water. They act as diuretics and do not actually replenish your body water. Also they tend to increase your apptite. So its better to avoid them.
