I'm 23 years old and my acne has never been so bad! I watch what I eat, get 7-8 hours of sleep each night, my dermatologist recently put me on Minocyclin... The acne is still there... It even seems worse now. I've been on the medicine for a little over two weeks. I feel that it should be cleared. Any remedies I haven't tried? Help!

I was also put on Retin-A. All it did was make my face peel.

One more question... Does pouring hydrogen peroxide on your acne work?

I wish I could help. My 13-year-old daughter also has acne. Her doctor put her on Tetracycline but it didn't really help and it made her skin more sensitive to sunlight. Then she was switched to birth control pills, which are sometimes given to female acne sufferers to regulate the hormones that are causing the acne. It didn't really help either. I can't help but wonder if she will end up using Accutane, which I've heard is very effective but has side effects such as depression and is known to cause birth defects (I'm not too worried about that part at her age).

The best thing for acne is to buy that bar of Sunlight soap that grandparents used to remove stain .. Guaranteed to work.. I had really bad acne (it was almost purple) and a doctor told me to use this soap and it all went away in less than 1 month.. and it's really cheap...Good luck
