It depends - spirit is not bound by space and time as we are. He answers, always.

Also, sometimes it's just not what we want to hear, so we ignore it.

He responds according to His timing and will. He know what you need, as opposed to what you want. And He knows how you getting what you've prayed for will affect others. It's not just all about ourselves. So, for instance, I prayed that God would help me find an apartment so I could move out of my parents house a few years ago. I kept praying for it, and I wasn't finding anything. Then, my father passed and my mom needed my help with the bills, taking care of my younger sister, etc. Had I gotten what I wanted at that time, my mom and sister would have been stuck. It's all about what is in His plan for all of His children.

And I don't think that it's about how much faith you have. A person who has never believed in God may suddenly cry out to HIm for help as a last resort and He answers their prayer. It's just about what is His will.

Hope that helps some.

Everything I have ever prayed for took a long time to receive, but I did receive everything I prayed for,

I belive God only blesses you with things you can handle,

Start showing God what kind of person you are by doing onto others, showing kindness to strangers, sharing possesions with others without wanting it back. Sharing food with friends and family,

He will bless you before you know it. but it can't be all about you. Ask yourself in any situation, What would God do? And then do it.

It's not how long God takes to answer a prayer that's an issue. It's how long it takes for us to understand the answer given. This is how faith works. God is always there. How well though, will you receive what He has for you?

God bless

I think it depends on the situation. If your life is in danger it may be immediate. Other things are probably based on God's priority list if recognized at all. First of all you have to be praying to the right God, and second, your prayer should be in harmony with his will and purposes. In other words, he isn't likely to give you the winning numbers to the lottery, although a recent Wicca thinks that is what happened to her.

Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

I believe this shows God hears and answers right away. Sometimes things get in the way. If Daniel had given up after 10 days, the angel wouldn't have come with the answer.
Faith is pressing in until you get the answer. Sometimes the answer is no, or wait.

It varies widely, depending on the situation. It's not a formula or business, there is no turn-around time. It can be done in one swoop immediately, in two weeks, in 25 years.... or it could be answered slowly in steps. It varies as widely as the nature of the prayers, and depends on what's good for the situation in question.

No prayer remains unanswered. For some prayers, not answered in this life, the reward is there in the hereafter. Allah will say to the amused one,"Your prayers was not answered but it was listened and recorded. Here is the reward for asking Me.|

Sometimes I got the response right away. Some other times, it took very long to get a response. But I believe, whatever, it is God's business not mine and it is always for my best.

He only answers those that perceive occurrences as answers. What really happens is people get what they want occasionally and they give credit to god. When bad things happen they shrug it off as god's will. In reality god has nothing to do with anything because he's not real.
