It's all matter of preferance. I personally prefer the LCD. It's less expensive, more reliable. The most important factor is the resolution of the T.V.. The new 1080p sets are hitting shelves. I would not get anything else. HD dvd and Blu-ray can really only be utilized at this resolution. If your wondering 1080i and 720 p are pretty much the same. But 1080p is the way to go!!!

If you're watching sports, plasma is better. If you're playing games, LCD is better. If you want to mount on the wall, LCD is lighter. If you watch a lot of movies, Plasma recreates colors better. If your set will be in a bright room LCD's have less screen glare. If you are concerned about electricity usage LCD uses less of it. If you want a smaller unit, only LCD's come smaller than 42 inches. If you want a bigger unit, I believe there are more plasmas in larger sizes than LCD. If you want the greatest viewing angles, plasma is better than LCD.

This just scratches the surface.
