why is candy a part of easter, christmas, halloween & etc...
WHY is it so POPULAR?

I think Candy represents a celebration and all of these holidays are certainly times when you eat things that you would not eat everyday.
Also I think it is about tradition. In olden times people could not afford to buy gifts for people so they would make candies and sweets to give as gifts. This tradition has carried on for generations.

Candy is good!
It makes us feel good.
Also, it's probably a hold over to the olden days (50 years ago) when sugar and chocolate wasn't as common as it is now where candy was a special treat.

It gives comfort by its familiarity. Sweet and pleasant tasting it gives the consumer pleasure.
Something to do with brain receptors I understand in the pleasure zone.
Probably twaddle, but who knows.

Its sweet.. and as children we are not allowed to have many of it. and we all know the human nature... we are tempted to do what we are not supposed to.... like drugs. The more you 'scare' kids about drugs and the more info you give them, the more likely they'll do it.
Thats what I think, I could be wrong.

BECAUSE THEY ARE REALLY YUMMY AND SWEET!
And it has a yummy taste.
It is popular because its the cheapest thing you can get!
The cheaper it is.the yummy you it. =)
