Grey Goose or Belvedere are both clean and smotth. Absolut has bit of a bite - usually needs a mixer with it. Stolichnaya Orange is smoother than finlandia if your looking for flavored. But Grey Goose Orange is the best.

Actually, despite being a more reasonably priced vodka than many of the high-end names...... Smirnoff was voted the best in a blind taste test of all the high -end vodkas. After they had gathered about 20 of the really expensive high-end brands, they threw in Smirnoff just for fun. It ended up being voted the best. See the quote below:

Thompson continued, "Smirnoff's success comes from the distinctive,
high-quality product, its heritage, excellent advertising and new packaging
that conveys Smirnoff's status as a world-class vodka." A panel of some of the industry's top food and wine experts rated Smirnoff as their "hands down favorite" vodka in a blind tasting of 21 world-class vodkas by The New York Times (Jan. 26, 2005, The New York Times). The Times panel voted Smirnoff found Smirnoff to be " ... clean and ultra-smooth, with pleasing texture and classic vodka aroma."

I like 42 Below, a New Zealand Vodka, or Ciroc, a French Vodka distilled from grapes!

Depends on what your using it for, and what your tastes are. If I am drinking vodka straight with hors d'ouvres, I prefer Stolichnaya, but I like my straigh vodka with a good spicy character.
The best vodka for bloody mary's I have come across is Tito's from Texas of all places. Just something about how it mixes with the tomato juice.
Grey Goose is popular, and it is good, but not worth the price in my opinion.
I stock Skyy and Titos in my home bar. Skyy is extraordinarily smooth for the price, and goes well in just about everything. Skyy is my vote for best bargain in vodkas.

As for the flavored vodkas, I don't know much about them. I have a bottle of Smirnoff Orange at home that is a bit rough around the edges.

Gilbey's, Fleishmann's, or Smirnoff if you're in college (good = cheap). These are also okay to cook with, should the recipe call for it.

Absolut, Belvedere, or Stoli if you're mixing drinks such as Screwdrivers, Bloody Mary's, or anything else with a fruity or otherwise sweet element.

Grey Goose, Ketel One, or Armdale if you're having a fancy dinner party and you don't want to take any chances on impressing your company. These are also a must if you're making vodka martini's, or drinking it straight, where the vodka must stand on it's own.

Chopin for SPECIAL occassions.

New luxury vodka is called Diva vodka. It first gets ice-filtered, then filtered through Nordic birch charcoal and then passed through a sand of crushed diamonds and gems (We can almost see someone crush and crumble the gems vigorously).

What is especially fascinating, is the price. In every bottle you’ll find semi-precious or precious stones, including diamonds, which will make the product price range from $ 70.00 up to $ 1,060,000.00 . Cheers!

Gray Goose is probably my favorite, but in terms of value - Smirnoff Triple Distilled. It has the price of a good rail booze, but it belongs on the top shelf in my opinion.

Finlandia Orange is decent vodka, but there are better vodkas. Stoli Orange is good too!
