I'm bored at work, so I figured I'd post this question, regardless of how stupid it is.

Is there any truth to the "two-day rule?" I usually don't date much, so I wouldn't know. But this guy asked me out on Sunday, so I gave him my number. He was really sweet, and we talked the whole night, so I'm pretty sure he's into me. The feeling is very much mutual, but he hasn't called yet.

I know you guys aren't mind readers, but you think he's just playing it cool. After all, it has only been two days. If you're a guy (or even if you're not), do you typically wait a few days before making the big move?

The 2-day rule is silly, but sometimes necessary, because of when your first encounter happened. If it happened on a weekend, many people are very low-key on Sunday, and spend the day recovering or doing work. He might be busy. As a guy, I never felt it was unwelcome for the girl to call. Shows she's just as interested. Good luck!

Some think they need to wait, others know it's kewl to call any time if we gave 'em our number...the 2 or 3 day rule is a bunch of bunk and a waste of 2 or 3 perfectly good days the two people could be getting to know one another.

I wouldn't read too much into it. It was a holiday weekend. He probably had plans with friends or family or maybe he was just relaxing. You just met him right? Also, you haven't called him in two days either. Maybe he's not sure if you're into him. Give him a buzz or shoot him a text. If he waits two days to get back to you then he's either not that into you or he plays games in which case you don't need either. Don't let this incident give you one tinge of insecurity. You are fabulous!! If he doesn't call, he's just missing out. There's more where he came from...NEXT!

Yes. And by the way he is doing it on purpose, and it is working. You are already into him and trying to figure him out. This is why we do this stuff to girls. It drives yall crazy and we know it. He is doing it on purpose. All guys do it to get a girl to like them or be into them. Just relax. If he is into you, he will call. He is probably just waiting for the weekend to come around anyways, so don't worry. Relax, and just have fun. He'll call.

Usually if a guy is into you he can hardly wait to talk to you. Now not saying hes not. Just let him call ya and dont focus on it.
