what to do with a swollen cut lip!! much help needed?

i start my first day of HS TOMORROW and just last night my neighbor threw a rock at my face. it hit my lip and cut it open just a little. I NEED something to take the swelling down and cut to dissapear. please helppp

well, he is 11. and it was kinda an accedent. but as if just starting HS wasnt enough of a stress... now this!! ahh thank for the adviceee! :)

1] wash cut gently, to got any dirt/debris out
2] apply a dab of antibiotic ointment
3] take ibuprofen every six hours
4] put some ice in a ziploc bag, wrap in a paper towel, and hold it on the lip - on 20 minutes, off 20 minutes.
5] use a straw to protect cut area
6] don't put any coverup etc, in the cut, only ointment.
6] eat popsicles!
PS: how old is your neighbor, and what is his problem?

Ice it! Keep ice on it all day 15 minutes on 15 off with a barrier between your lip and the ice so you don't get frost bite as well. As far as the cut, just keep some carmex or other generic lip gloss on it to keep it from drying out and cracking. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine!!!!!!!

If you ice it the swelling should go down a lot. Try using neosporin on the cut to prevent it from leaving a scar. Use some foundation to cover it in the morning if its still really visible.

Take an NSAID such as ibuprofen or naproxen (ie. Aleve, Advil). That'll help the swelling. Put some neosporin on the lip but try not to get it into your mouth.

Get some cotton swabs and soak one in hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide comes in a big brown bottle and is relatively cheap at any local drug store. Do this once an hour until your lip goes back to normal. You may have to do this up to 8-12 hours.

I would just continue what youre doing for tonight and if in the morning he isnt better Id get him into the dr asap, he may have developed some type of infection and may need antibiotics. Good luck!

after thouroughly cleaning and disinfecting the cut and surrounding area,wrap ice in a CLEAN towel and place directly on the affected area,applying a comfortable amount of pressure.Also,take an asprin tablet.
