I have a juicy steak in the Fridge but I am soooo tired this evening I cant be bothered to stand and watch it grill!

Can I cook it in the oven? If not what other easy method is there?

Good rump steak should be grilled. Get your griddle pan hot, smear the steak with a little oil (not the pan) and season with crushed black pepper. Depending on the thickness of the steak, the cooking process takes less than 6 minutes. Let the steak rest for at least three minutes after it's cooked. You can take a rest at the same time. Compare that with pre-heating the oven, waiting for it to cook, going back to the oven and finding that your expensive rump steak has dried out, lost it's flavour or whatever.
You could cook it in a pressure cooker if you want. It'll taste like braising steak and look grey and tired. Suit you down to the ground if you're feeling grey and tired.

It can be cooked in the oven but you should braise it.

First, coat it with salt and pepper, then brown it on all sides in a pot on the stove top.

After it is browned, add some veggies like potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. then add a couple cups of chicken stock and a couple cups of wine. The meat should be completely covered with liquid.

Then cover the pot and bake it in the oven at 350 degrees for 3-4 hours. The longer the better.

The acid in the wine will make the meat extremely tender.

Heck I am natural in that I have the teeth and digestive system to eat animals.
As for the steak, I would normally shallow fry a rump on each side, in butter for about 5mins a side.
Should be ok, and nice with horseradish, as opposed to a charming carrot cake or nut cutlet.
Go for it !

I usually put the steak in foil slice some onion a green pepper and a couple of slices of tomato a bit of salt and pepper if you have a mushroom you can add that is well , a few drops of olive oil and bake in oven for half hour ,at 350F.
,you can even bake a potato and your supper is made!

rump steak is a less-tender cut of meat that should be cooked with liquids.

My suggestion is to use a slow cooker and broth, plus onions and carrots. It's pretty easy with a slow cooker. Set on low and wait about 8 hours.

Edit...
LOL!!! Looks like Dim Blonde gave us all negative votes and deleted "her" answer. I guess "she" couldn't take the heat in the kitchen.

I would say, fire up the BBQ, pour a nice glass of red, put some sliced spud on the stove, some mixed veg in the nuker, sit outside, enjoy the evening, cook your steak, sip your red, and contemplate your day.

If it's a fan oven, then yes, that's the best way to do it as it cooks both sides at the same time, sealing in all the juices.
