Is America full of people who obey the rules?

NO! America was founded by people who did not follow the rules. They came here and changed the rules of the Indians. The indians did not believe in ownership of the land and people came and decided that they owned this land and that land and just pushed the native americans away or killed them. Then once they were here a few selected ones decided they would add rules that benefit them. That is why they started bringing in slaves and so on. Americans do not obey rules. I mean come one who honestly obeys all the rules?? I think only God does that because I know no one is perfect and no one obeys all the rules.

In some respects, yes. Go back to the days when the first colonies were being established. It was hugely expensive to do so, and the english crown didn't want to foot that bill. Some groups of private investors wanted to pool their money to do so.

At that same time, there was some religious dissent in England. The dissenters wouldn't sit still for the established state religion, and wanted out. The crown saw an opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone. They let the investors fund the colonies, and let the religious dissidents be the first ones to try to make a go of life here in the wilderness. Over time, each of the different 13 colonies was set up with different rules, some wildly different from the way things ran back in England. So the earliest European settlers were here in part because they wouldn't live under the rules in England.

Today - eh, it's a tossup. Some people follow the rules all the time, some break them routinely, some only break them when they know they won't get caught. But that's probably the same almost everywhere, I bet.

No. America was founded by people who played by the rules but as time went by the rules were being constantly changed by the King of England. The King of England needed money to support an unpopular war back home. So he figured, let us tax the colonist. So much so that the end result was that the Americans said enough is enough.

Short minded folks got to love them. America was founded buy folks that explored. When they discovered that there are people here they fought and bought the land. Sure there whas a few times it was not pretty but none the less we got it. the majority of folks that do not obey the rules are those from other countries that are illegal. they know that not much can be done to them, but it is also full of folks that are in jail for taking the short cuts in life.

Not sure I quite follow your question(s).

Are you asking if our Forefathers were criminals? Or are you asking if everyone in the U.S. obeys the rules?

Well, our Forefathers were considered treasonous and criminals by King George when they began to oppose Him (i.e., the Crown), his taxation, and, generally speaking, British control over the Colonies.

Whether you consider George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Hancock, et.al., criminals, depends strongly on your POV. Albeit, I don't ever recall anyone every saying they were indeed criminals recently.

As for the second(?) question, if everyone in America obeyed the rule, the law, there would be no need for prisons, now would there?

Does that help?

No.....because there were no rules to break.

America isn't filled with 100% perfect people who abide by all the rules either. That's why we have laws and rules and police and jails and prisons. You don't have to be "perfect" to expect some amount of law enforcement.

They didn't like their homelands laws and left a long time ago. All thru the years we've had people who've fought laws.Thank goodness or life today would be very different for many of us including women.
