I hope that you would be able to tell by the way he treats you. If you sense a real commitment in the relationship with you and not just his son, then there are feelings at least. Personally, I would be seeking more than just "feelings" though. Find out if he loves you and is willing to raise a child together with you. Another good sign is if he is considering marriage. That is the ultimate commitment to someone and a family. If you find that he is in the relationship with you because of his son, make sure that it does not cause problems with the "family" setting. Make sure there are no problems between you and the boyfriend. Your obligation and responsablity is to your son first and foremost. That goes for your boyfriend too.

Well, does he still do the little romantic things? Did he ever? You could just ask, and you should be able to tell if he is lying.
