I talked to my recruiter and he told me PJ reservists work more than 1 weekend a month and have to live fairly close to the base they are assigned to.
So I was trying to figure out how much they make since they have to pay for their own house or apartment or can they live on base and the military covers it or what?
Also any good work outs I could do to get in better shape.
Right now im doing....
5 sets or max push ups rest 2 mins in between ( every other day)
10 set of max push ups rest 2 mins in between (on push up days)
run 1 mile every other day.
5 sets of max sit ups on run days.
anything i can do to get in better shape?....and is their any good weight gaining protien shakes or bars that have worked for you...They really dont do much for me or i havent noticed a significant change in weight yet at least.

Thanks, Matt

As far as pay/housing etc the guy above me is correct. also know that you would be paid the same amount as anyone else of your rank in the reserves while active for drilling/deployment (which as a Pararescue, i would think you would end up bing deployed, dont let the recruiter tell you otherwise). Youll get extra pay when deployed for being in a warzone (hazard duty) and a little extra for your job maybe, but its not significant

as far as the workout routine, plan on being able to do more. I would work on endurance rather then pure strength as those are the qualities special units really need. they dont need the guy who is good to go for 30 minutes at a time but can haul 500 pounds or anything like that. they need the people who can be good to go for days at a time with little sleep little food etc. Flexability and endurance are the two key things they need.

If you are in the reserves you get paid for the days you work. Unless you are activated you should plan on having another job to support yourself. You will not be able to live on base while in a reserve status. Base housing is for active duty and their dependents. The barracks are for active duty and for reserves while drilling or activated.

What job you do in the reserves, doesn't effect what your paid.

Your paid based on what rank you are.

An E-4 makes $226.00 a month

Yes, you will get paid while in boot camp. To find out what your pay will be. That depends on what rank you enlisted at. There are several paygrades starting at E1 to as high as E3 that I know you can enlist at, unless you signed up as an Officer. Either way google Military Pay Rates to see what the pay will be.
