I got a tattoo on my back and shoulder on Friday, it is now tuesday,

When can I return to sleeping normally. I've slept on my one side, for the past 4 nights now.

You don't have to wait at all.
If it's uncomfortable, give it a couple days, if not it's fine to sleep on your back.

"why would you put your question in quotes?"

Don't sweat this....there are plenty of reasons as to why she has yet to respond. Some include: 1) Forgetting to text back 2) Being too busy 3) Not knowing what to say 4) Wanting you to try harder 5) Family/friend/life/health issues 7) Broken phone/never got the message 6) The unfortunate, she is no longer interested. Since you said she always initiated and things were going well she probably still likes you. You definitely should text her again to be sure. You have nothing to lose. If you don't at least try you may miss out. Also, girls like it when men make an effort to contact first, so in the future this may be advantageous.

When I've gotten my work, I've taken anywhere from 1 to 4 days to feel like I could sleep on that part of the body. One day if it heals fast (usual), up to four for one unusual situation.

I always wear a ratty old t-shirt these first several days just to make sure I don't stick to the sheets, should I not be sufficiently healed. On the one time I got "stuck", I showered with the old tee on and gently pulled it off of me. No damage to the tattoo, didn't swell or anything, and one laundering cleaned the shirt.

Plus, even if you don't "stick" much, the t-shirt is a good test to see how much risk their is and whether or not you're good to sleep as normal.

I remember waking up with the sheet stuck to my back piece which royally sucked. I would say a week maybe 2 weeks top. It is truly about how many times you want to sleep on clean linens since I am assuming you put a fresh coat of ointment on before bed. I usually go until the last part of the scab falls off, but its no more of a hassle than wearing a shirt all day long covering it. Good luck to ya.

It really depends on wether or not it bothers you to sleep on it, but I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it for the first few days. I have three tattoos. I made the mistake of sleeping on my side after I had gotten it tattooed and the next morning when I woke up my shirt was stuck to my skin and when I pulled it off it hurt really bad and some of the scad came off with my shirt. My side ended up being really swollen. So to be on the safe side i would avoid sleep on you tattoo till it has had a little bit of time to heal.

I slept on mine the same day. The tattoo artist recommended that I put Vasoline on it and I had to problems with sticking to clothes or sheets and it scabbed in 3 days. I only had a problem with the waistline of pants or skirts rubbing on it.

whenever i get my back tattooed i always end up sleeping on it immediately, it's the way i sleep and always just end up rolling over. it has never affected my tattoo in a bad way. 4 days should be fine, sleep away!!

I have never slept any differently.
(have both my shoulderblades, lower back and neck tattooed)

You can sleep normally.

A trick you can try is to take a gauze pad or piece of saran wrap and tape to the tattoo to help protect it while you do sleep.

You don't have to wait at all....I sleep on it immediately.....it's just your personal comfort. If it really bothers you, I'd say after 3 more days it won't bother you that much any more.
