The former happens first, then eventually transitions to the latter. So it's best not to go away for very long...

I think that some have so many contacts, they may not miss one of them if they don't post for a while. I just spent time last night emailing some of the first people I met on this sight. One has lost his account, and I know he never posted anything hateful or vile, he simply stood firm in his faith. He said he will make no attempt to open another account, as when he was suspended from Q&A, he lost access to other mail sent to through Yahoo. I see it work both ways. I think there are relationships that started here, but have reached the point of friendship where they would be missed by their circle of friends. Others are such a hoot, you miss them when you don't get your "fix" of fun.
Edit: I guess given our fickle natures, for the most part, out of sight....

For me, out of sight, out of mind. Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder unless I know I'll see you again and I'm still in a relationship with that person.

It really depends on the situation. I have a friend that once said Absence makes the heart grow fonder or younger and blonder.

True love makes it grow fonder...as does praying for people....not praying or loving people.....you loose sight of them and they are out of mind until the Lord brings them to remembrance.

I really miss it when I'm away from home and have no computer. When I come home it's like being with friends again.
It's not like I have DT's or dream about it or my fingers are in constant motion.......!
My psychiatrist said I should buy a laptop but I think I'll try it cold turkey.
I travel a lot. My new mantra is
Out of sight, out of my mind, I mean mind.

I think it depends on how much you value and affection you have for the one who is out of sight. For quite some time before my divorce, I would rush home from work because I missed my beautiful feline children, but I couldn't have cared less if their "father" came home or not. lol

Just hold fast to what God says is true and you will know. Faithfullness will only come from a spirit of the living God. As far as being on yaho q&a , your statment will take on more meaning, as it depends on who it is. SOme come to love and learn from each other. SOme come to bring hate and deception. The loving ones we will miss, the haters we wont miss, but we just leave them to our faithful God. He knows just what to do.
