it's really starting to bug me...i first tried contacts in july...they fitted me with a pair of proclear...they didn't work, they got soooo dry...this weekend i saw the doctor again and he gave me o2optix. they feel awesome...however,my eyes are pretty red...close to bloodshot. i dont know if not sleeping much last night is a factor in this, but they were crystal clear before i put my contacts in...
should i keep wearing them?
to avoid answers of the type 'ask a doctor', as soon as i click post im callin them to ask...but i need the opinion of experienced contact lenses wearers...

It could be your rest. Are they bothering you still? Are they foggy? It all depends how things are now. Dont wear them if they are making your eyes itchy or puffy.

Sounds like you need to go back and ask for a different pair of lenses. When I wore them and was sleep-deprived, tehy really didn't cause my eyes to get all red. They were only dry and or itchy.
Even though your eyes feel okay, they should not be bloodshot. There is something in the material of the lense that is irritating your eye. That doesn't sound right. No, I would not keep wearing them.

It could be that you're having a reaction (whether from the lenses themselves, or from the solution you're using) It is a good idea that you're ringing your eye doctor about it, as they can probably advise you on what to do about it.. Personally, i'd leave them out for a day or two, and see if the redness goes away - if it doesn't, then you could either have an eye infection, or its something to do with the eyes themselves. If it does go away, try the lenses again - if they go red when you put them in, then you know thats its them (or the solution) thats causing the problem.

I've worn contact lenses a long time. If your eyes hurt and you are uncomfortable, don't wear them. You aren't supposed to get used to them. They are supposed to feel fine at the moment you put them in your eyes. The best thing to do is keep trying different brands until you find one that works for you. I am sorry you are having troubles. I know what a pain it is not to get it right the first time.

If your eyes don't seem to get along with any type of contact lenses you try, your eyes may be too sensitive for contacts. I don't have that problem, but my mother does -- she can't find any type of contact lenses (soft or rigid gas-permeable) that her eyes can tolerate. In your case, you may want to try a different brand of lenses. I'm also thinking that you may have an allergy issue since this is the time of year for seasonal allergies, so you may want to look into that before you give up on contacts altogether.

Well, i have been wearing contacts for about 2 yrs now and the best are the "night/day" contacts. these contacts you are able to fall asleep with them and everything. I dont wear them in my sleep but some people do.

They do not dry out unless you sleep with them on. But throughout the time you have them on allday, you never feel them

take them out... see if hte redness clears... if it does its your contacts and "ask a doctor" if it does not clear "ask a doctor" but htis way you can tell him more detail.
