There is nothing in the scriptures (either the Bible, or other scriptures believed by Mormons) that can directly confirm or deny that God the Father was born on another planet. Or that God the Father was once just a man. There are opinions expressed regarding these statements, but they are not church doctrine.
We believe that we are created in the image of God. We also believe that we have the potential to become like our Father in Heaven. We may eventually become gods - through the gift and grace of God - as sons may become like their fathers. However, if and when that occurs we will have at that time glorified perfect bodies, and we will have godlike powers by virtue of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus is God, and was God before he was born on earth. Was Jesus a man? I would not say that Jesus was just a man, but we are in His likeness. We believe that there is one God in purpose, intent, and understanding. But there is more than one Being who is God.
In my opinion God was once a man like us and he progressed through the grace of His Father to become Our Father in Heaven. There has always been God, but not every
Being who is God was always God.
We believe that God resides near Kolob, but his presence is everywhere through the universe by means of the Holy Spirit, which is everywhere.
We believe that we all once lived with God before the earth was created. So, it would seem, we all lived on another planet before this one.

The only thing we , as people, know about God, it is written in the Bible. I cant quote verse and scripture, but there are passages which tell us what God is.
God was in the Beginning. God created the Heavens and the Earth. Could a mere mortal do that?
God spoke and there was light. In the Beginning the Word was with God. God seperated the Red Sea so that Moses and the children of Israel could walk across dry land.
Could you revere a man? I dont think so. But we can revere God because he is mightier than any man could be. I hope you dont think I beat around the bush. I just told you what I have read. Oh, and one last thing.
There is only One God. He is the beginning and the end. and he gets jealous if people have other gods, so , no, I dont think there are any others. If they are, they are false gods.

The Almighty creator has never been on this earth he is still where he has always been. Yes, he is in heaven or some place other than the earth. Wish we knew the name of his planet?
He was alone in the universe for from the beginning of time.
when he decided to create another creature like himself.
A spirit person.
Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake, no matter whether they are the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens.
Revelation 3:14 “And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce´a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,
After he made Jesus he made billions of other spirit creatures or angels. By means of Jesus help.
They lived for trillions of years or eons. Before the idea of a material world and animals and plants and people was ever thought of. Satan was a glorious creature it says in Ezekiel
Until this human women caused him to sin by his lying to her.
He wanted her to worship him. Even the angels can fall victum to a beautiful woman.

how was God born on earth as a man if he created earth? ---a comment to apostolic girl.
I was raised mormon but this doctrine wasn't one that was talked about very much so I'm not too familiar with it. Hopefully someone that knows a bit more can explain it. From my understanding they do believe that God was once a man, and men can become like God. Other than that I don't really understand it

"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens. That is the great secret... It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the character of God and to know...that he was once a man like us. Here, then, is eternal life--to know that only wise and true God, and you have got to learn how to become Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you. .. God himself, the father of us all dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ."
- The Prophet Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 342-345
But as more of the details, you will have to contact the missionaries and ask them.

The early mormon church believed that God lives on a planet called Koleb (spelling?).
One of their doctrines state specifically (and I quote), "What man is, God once was. What God is, man can become."
This is as direct an answer as you can get, and while the mormon community will deny it, it IS in their own literature, either in the tenets of faith, or pearl of great price, but I'm not sure where, specifically.

that is not any longer a prime tenant of their faith or something, and that is not any longer something they communicate approximately each and every Sunday, however the solid church place is that God became into as quickly as a guy who lived on a planet close to a celebrity pronounced as Kolob. as a results of fact he became right into a solid person and stepped forward nicely in the afterlife, he became a god himself and regulations our planet. i do no longer understand why Mormons are cheating approximately this concept. that is an solid place of the church this is extensively obtainable on line. back, that is not any longer a large significant tenant that they lecture approximately each and every of the time, in spite of the fact that that's the solid place.

In addition to what has been said, I add....
Revelation concerning Kolob can be found in the book of Abraham (part of the Pearl of Great Price). Kolob is mentioned in the following verses:
Abr. 3: 3-4, 9, 16 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/abr/3/3-4,9,16#3
Abr. 5: 13 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/abr/5/13#13
There are scriptures that point out that the intelligence from which God created us has always existed:
D&C 93: 29 - http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/93/29#29
29 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be.
All living, intelligent beings derive from eternal intelligence... only we have progressed from our first existence. We glorify God as the one who has brought us out of darkness, and created order out of chaos.
The doctrines really are very deep concerning "Who is God?" and "Who is man?" and it all ties in with the question of how the universe was made.
We will always worship God. With gratitude we praise Him for loving us so purely, and for bringing in into eternal Light. With love we offer him our child-like trust, for we know that he will always know more than we know. Like a parent who continues to learn and grow, and a child who learns from that parent, God will always have more wisdom and goodness than us.
Hope that helps to clarify. xo

It is not easy to help you fully understand our doctrines in a few sentence.
but ponder this:
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
(New Testament | John 20:17)
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
(New Testament | Matthew 5:48)
As a LDS Mormon, we literally believe we are the children of God the Eternal Father, thus we are the descendants of God.
Just as we grow up to be like our earthly parents, we can became like God the Father.
The rest, you can read what Doc said, he said it much better than I.
