can i use a Microsoft Windows XP Pro Edition OEM Version SP2 when building a computer for my operating system? or what do i have to look for when i install windows into my computer.

If its a straight copy of XP and with no affiliation of the other computer brands, since they're kinda proprietary when it comes to software. Yes you can use it.

Just call MS when installing it, and tell them you re-formatted your computer and need another serial key. They'll ask you how many computers you intend to use it on, obviously SAY ONE! and then some other questions, and they'll give you the code, input it usually they stay on the line, then there you go!

A lot of people don't know this, but since I build computers for friends/clients its a great way to install your own copy into their machine =D

If you already installed it on another PC, no. OEM software is limited to one specific PC by the components present during the initial installation.

If not, try it and see if it installs properly.
