Well an Atheist can't baptize someone it isn't a true Baptism because you must be Baptized with the lord, and the person baptizing you must believe as well. You probably are a good person, but you do sin, every one does, I don't think you are ready to be Baptized.
You should be Baptized once you accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior, once you accept that you are a sinner, and you repent for it, and with Baptism you commit your life to Christ, if you are not Baptized I don't believe that will keep you from God, however if you don't accept you are a sinner, and don't accept Jesus Christ that will keep you from him.

Hope this helps, try finding a Church around you they will help you alot.

Also make sure you are ready to be Baptized, and that you do believe, I was just Baptized a few weeks ago, and I'm 18.

It seems like you struggle because you only have half the story. You "believe that christ died on the cross (ect)" (unenthusiastic) Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ ? Are you aware He arose from the dead a few days later and is alive forever more? Is His Spirit living in you? Does His truth make your heart leap? Do you pray to the Father through Jesus? Do you know what Jesus said in John 14:6-9 / John 12:44-45 / John 10:30 / John 8:58 ? How about 2 Corinthians 5:19 / 1 Timothy 3:16 / Colossians 2:9 ? Or Hebrews 1:1-3 / Zechariah 14:9 / Isaiah 9:6-7 ? Here is an important one for anyone: John 8:24

I would definately get involved in a good Bible based church and talk to the pastor about it. You sound like you have a desire to be baptized, so you should do it. But know that it is not necessary for salvation. You are saved when you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Baptism is an important step in your Christian journey and shows obedience to God, but it not the beginning or end of it.

Baptism doesn't mean that you are going to heaven, the only way to heaven is to believe that Jesus died for you. Being 'good' also won't save you from hell. You say you don't sin but it's impossible not to sin, everyone who has ever lived has sinned atleast once. Baptism is just meant to be sort of like a badge showing that you have let God into your life, but if you are baptised but do not love God then it means nothing.

If you want to be baptized into Christ, what can stop you?? Your mom doesn't sound like the authority on the subject. Just go to your local congregation and speak to a minister about your issue. In the Bible, people were baptized the same day they believed so if you are there, then I'd say go do it and it won't matter what anybody else thinks. Baptism is between you and God!!!

Be blessed - it is an awesome decision and one you will never regret... to be united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6).

Monte - how do you know where Manson is?? Maybe he IS in Heaven?

No one for sure knows who goes to hell. In some Christian sects, they believe that if you aren't baptized you will go to hell. Other sects of Christianity believe you go to hell if you never come into contact with Christianity, like the missionairies that go to other countries to try and convert non-Christians, and you die that way. That's what Catholics believe, my sect of Christianity, but that's not what I believe. I don't think you have to believe in every single law of a religion you belong to be considered a "member" of that religion. That's just my two cents. You can have yourself baptized though if you really want to. When my kid sister got baptized, I saw a middle-aged woman right before us get baptized.

Baptism does not save. The only way to be saved is to believe that Jesus, who is God, died for your sins and rose again. Do you believe that? If not, then ask Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your life, and you will be saved and never go to hell.
