If you can find gold/yellow and black headbands, those are always a great idea to keep their hair out of their eyes. Flavored water packets to go in their water bottles, maybe? Those are the first two things that come to mind. LOL

As a high school boys coach who is frustrated at the lack of schools willing to recognize boys volleyball, I sympathize with you. Many schools would have enough boys interested if they actually did start a program. For the first couple of years it might be an easy way for many to get a varsity letter, but they will be able to field a team. It only takes 6-10 guys. I suggest starting a co-ed intramural league with your P.E. teachers. Many girls are good, but not good enough to make the girl's high school team, and you could find a couple of guys to fill out the teams and have some fun after school. After a few weeks, it may be possible to get the guys together and ask them if they want to start a varsity team. If you have at least 8, I would go to the athletic director and ask them about starting up a program for boys based on the turnout of the intramurals. The hard part is finding coaches willing to have a poor record at first in order to build the program. You may get a young coach who played very recently, but that's not a bad thing. Have parents (Booster Club) get together and raise money for the team budget so the budget will ease the administrations concerns. (Almost all schools are being hurt by the economy right now and are trying to make cuts everywhere.) This will definitely help your cause. I wish you the best of luck.

You but little baggies an can put like a volleyball keychain, some notes just saying like "Go Lady Jackets!" and those flavor packs to put in water...you can tie the baggie shut with a ribbon with the teams colors or volleyballs!
