Women regardless of marital status are allowed to attend the Masjid.

Women are allowed to attend the prayers at the mosques. Here in Saudi Arabia, many women attend the regular 5 times a day prayer in the mosques. Although it is not recommended for women to do so for the reason that they may be nursing or attending their children at home and thus would be better if they just pray at home, nevertheless Islam never forbids women from attending congretional prayers in the mosques. In fact at the time of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) women regularly attend prayers and he forbids men from disallowing women to attend mosque prayers.

At present many pseudo-islamic scholars are advocating the vanishment of women from the mosques all together. They are teaching that women should not attend prayers at the mosques. This is not ISLAM!!! They are confusing their paternalistic cultural chauvinism with the real Islam. In fact in Muslim histories women and men used to gather together in the mosques to discuss social and religious issues.

Of course she can go to the masjid!

Most masjids have a "womens side" and a "mens side," so she doesn't have to worry about anything. And of course she should wear a hijab and proper attire when she goes.
