"Puppies/Doggies" He always thinks when we go for a ride in the car he'll see dogs walking on the street. Even when there's a person pushing a stroller he gets excited then is disappointed when it's only a baby. But then he just looks around for more puppies.

"What's this?" Especially if you're pointing to something on the ground. He loves to destroy leaves that have fallen from the trees.

These are the ones we can't say or spell with out them knowing exactly what we are saying we've had to learn to give eachother eyesignals when they are here. Walk, outside, bye-bye, eat (hungry), chuck it, Petco, If I'm not here Mom, treat, park, And we have to be careful when we say sentences that begin with "Do ya want....." Dogs are too smart sometimes.

My dogs always know when I am going to leave the house without them. It doesn't matter if I am showered and perfumed for work, (they definately know then--they stand outside the bathroom and whine while I get ready) or if I am in my sweat pants. I think my dogs are mind-readers. But when they hear the car keys, they come running with hopeful faces.

My current dog, a male border collie: Treat & Dinner.

Also, he will start howling when I say the phrase that I use on my answering machine's outgoing greeting. There isn't any one particular word I use that sets him off. I don't use any dog commands in that sentence. Something else must be triggering his response.

A doberman I had as a child knew "out" so we spelled it O-U-T. Then she learned that, so we spelled it backward T-U-O.

My Yorkie understands dozens of words even if I spell them. She's the smartest dog I've seen in 50 years.
