What do you all think of a pedofile who seeks mental help to try to help him or herself avoid commiting the crime?

I think that's a great idea. My father counsels sex offenders to help them avoid engaging in those activities. It is not something you can be cured of, so learning ways to cope with it and stay out of trouble is the next best bet.

I believe he has a very good chance for success. He is seeking help and knows it is wrong.

Most pedofiles won't admit this. They justify their actions.

Support this person in any way you can. He deserves it.

I think that pedophile is a much better person than other people with destructive mental urges that don't seek mental help. I'm not familiar with the treatment for pedophiles, or their rates of success, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

I think any pedophile is a drain on the resources of humanity and ought to be incarcerated for life. It has been proven time and again that pedophilia cannot be cured, and that is evidenced by the 99% recidivism rate of pedophiles thru the court systems, it would be 100% but some of them get their just desserts before they make it to court.

I have to say once a pedophile stinking pervert always one they go to classes etc, to try not to be a freakin pervert but something inside of them will snap and they will do it again even worse than a relapse for an addict> Pedophiles should be put away for life and Rapers they are all sick in their head

I think they should be respected for admitting they have a problem and going to get help.
