I am 32 years old and have been having persistant fatigue for the past 4-5 years. I was thinking this was part of my crappy diet and no exercise program. I have been to the DR and had all my bloodwork done and everything cames back great. (CBC,Lipid,Thyroid, chest x-rays) Any ideas??

I go to bed at 10pm, but do not fall a sleep till 130-200am. I normally get up one a night to let me weinmaraner (dog) out. Work hours are actually great 8- 4, they do not care as long as your work is done. Can I be depressed and not know about it???

Tell your doctor yow want an Epstein Barr viral titer drawn(blood test). This happened to me , and as a "last resort" drew the test and my level was astronomically high..by then I had an enlarged liver, and swollen glands in my neck, armpits and groin the size of lemons! It is a mono-like illness that I recovered from only after 6 weeks of bedrest, fluids and good nutrition. When I reflect back on it now, I realize that I had been in a period of extreme chronic stress and I am a Type A personality......always trying to do everything for everybody. My doctor warned me that if I ever get myself in that condition again, I would then be classified as having Epstein-Barr(Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I remember being prescribed an antidepressant, because he said it helped lower the titer level.
At my sickest point before diagnosis, I was so weak, I didn't think I had enough strength to put my foot on the brake pedal to stop the car. I gradually got sicker and sicker over a period of 6-8 months. I was in my mid-30's at the time.

Are you getting enough sleep? A bad diet and no exercise may not necessarily show up on your tests, but could cause persistent fatigue. Or you could be suffering from depression.

It could very well be from a poor diet and lack of exercise. It could also be from work-burnout (maybe you put in a few too many hours a week?) Or it could be a sign of depression.

I would start with the diet and exercise first...if you don't see improvement, I would definitely head back to your doc.

If your fatigue is persistent, you should read about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS).
You may need a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist's consultation.
