If ANYONE can show me where the bible says that we evolved from monkeys, then I'll believe in that theory. I know for a FACT that the bible says that we was CREATED by God. Liberals don't like no facts, though.

The bible also says the value of Pi is exactly three.

And that bats are a type of bird.

And that rabbits chew their cud.

Still want to claim that "because the bible says so" is a valid way of proving something is true?

There is nothing written in religious texts that says humans evolved from monkeys. There are some words that say that God created man in his own image, and we know that ancient men did have somewhat of an apelike appearance. From this we can glean the logic that God looks like a monkey.

In as much as God is believed to be, by religious zealots and other pinheads, omnipotent and perfect there would be no reason for God to evolve; thus he or she still looks like a monkey. Consequently anyone claiming to be the “Son of God” must have had somewhat of a monkey likeness. There may be, even today, some of these among us. I have never actually seen one, but in the distant past, I went on a blind date with what I have come to believe was one of their relatives.

What is the process of creation?
God created the heavens and the earth, the light and darkness, the land and sea, the plants and trees. What process did he use?

As evolution is a process for creating something new (from dictionary.com: 1. any process of formation or growth; development).

So tell me, what was God's process?

Evolution might just have been the process in which we we're created.

You're holding Science and Religion as two seperate things. There is a lot of blending and overlapping.

God said let there be light.
The Big Bang

Created the Heavens and the Earth.
Planetary masses drawn together by the gravity of the sun

Seas and land.
Natural formation process as the planet cooled and elements were combined into new products; Amino Acids, H2O, etc.

Creatures on the land and of the sea.
Single celled amebas to mollusks to amphibians to dinosaurs to small rodents to rhinos.

Then he created man.
God used a process to create Adam. Evolution might very well have been that process. According to our sciences, that seems to be the process that God used.

So it's alright for man to learn about God and what he wants for us by reading the bible, but not by any other means?

Is not desired by those with faith to come to know God more in there everyday lives? To become closer to God?
That's what Science does. The more we know, the more of God is revealed to us.

Think about it this way: Since God created the universe, that means he also created the laws of physics (at least that is our name for his rules).
Now if you were going to write the rule book for the universe, would you set the rules to be things that you liked, or set them to the you're preferred way of doing things?

If you'd do things the way you preferred, why wouldn't God do the same thing?

Soleil said: "The bible also says the value of Pi is exactly three."

Well, actually it doesn't. Have you never heard of rounding off numbers? The people back then were very well aware that pi was not exactly three, and that passage was not given to teach math.

Furthermore, the method most likely used by Hiram would have caused the circumference to be exactly 3 times the diameter, using a string to measure straight across the diameter, then using the STRAIGHT string to measure from point to point around the circumference would make it exactly that.

Soleil said: "And that bats are a type of bird."

Depends on how you want to define a bird. Who says that they were confined to our classifications? They probably would think we were ignorant for calling something that obviously flies something other than a bird. It would seem according to their method of classification, If it flies, it is a bird.

Soleil said: "And that rabbits chew their cud."

And they do; they have been observed to do so, although it isn't regurgitated as is a cow's cud. It is obvious to observers what they are doing; those who choose to not believe the Bible will argue this point every time.

What evidence do you have that the bible is factual? its a book some dude wrote 3000 to 1900 years ago! Scientists look for empirical facts and THEN find an explanation for them, not the other way around as creationists do. And by the way, nobody says we evolved from monkeys, we just share a common ancestor with them: we are their cousins, not sons.

The Bible, and the people in it, never claim that the Bible is infallible. The Bible says we are created by God, but doesn't specify how except that we are formed from the dust. Science says we are made of the same materials in Earth, which agrees with the Bible. The Bible doesn't say evolution didn't happen. I think you're the one who doesn't like facts.

It is interesting that you point that out. There is no respectable literature to my knowledge that claims we evolved from monkeys.

The Theory of Evolution however does suggest aswell as mitochondrial genetic comparison that we evolved from an ancestor common to monkeys. So no matter wich side of the fence you stand on, it is safe to say we did not evolve from monkeys.

I happen to think the Theory of Evolution is very well founded and we do share a common ancestor.

Good day to you.

Now how are we supposed to take you seriously when you use grammar like "liberals don't like no facts, though." And "the bible says that we was created by God." Does the bible also say that using correct grammar is a sin?

1 Liberals do not equate with atheist there are many Liberals who are Christian

2 it is the bible which is a work of fiction

3 Facts must have evidence not just something written in a book

4 No one except those who are extreamily naive or trying to to mis lead have ever said we evolve from monkeys - we evolve from primates as do monkeys

So when you decide to learn about facts then you can ask a sensible question.

Apes. Not monkeys. Apes.

The bible was written by humans in an era before Enlightenment Thinking and advances in Western Science. An era before Darwin. An era before man had begun hypothesizing about his origins and the universe. An era in which you shockingly seem to still reside.

Jesus also said that to be saved you had to be born again. Let me know how crawling back inside your mother's womb is going.

As a side note, the bible says that God created humans. Doesn't say anything about the exact process that he used. Could have been "poof" there are humans, could have been slowly guiding evolution.
