Have you studied this topic? Do you believe the "spirit of antichrist" is already at work to bring "peace without Jesus' leading to the day he will deceive thousands (millions) then demand worship and his true colors (as satan himself) will be revealed when it's too late? There was a movie made about this, can't remember the name of it? Can anyone identify this movie?

I believe that the spirit of the Antichrist has been at work since the beginning of the church. Remember, Jesus said that there would be "wars and rumors of wars", etc. And also that much like a woman in labor, the birth pains would begin to come closer and closer together until the end. Satan has been at work in this world for a very long time; there have been many "little" antichrists in the world....Nero, Hitler, Stalin, etc....all preparing us for the real thing.
And unfortunately, I think that the Antichrist will decieve more than thousands or millions of people. Look around you even now. Only 1/6 of the world say they are Christian. And even fewer of those probably actually are. Trust me, the spirit of the Antichrist is alive and well in this world.

There has been MANY, MANY times in the past that the Antichrist was supposed to be "soon to come." An example was to be in the year 1550, based on Columbus's discovery of America. The list is very lengthy.
The Antichrist is basically talked about to create a scape-goat. Every time the radical fundies don't like someone, there's some kind of hype that they are the Antichrist.
Of course, they always come up with an answer that sounds plausable to SOME PEOPLE, as to why that person specifically is the Antichrist. But then again, SOME PEOPLE never truly came home from that Greatful Dead concert in 1985.

An antichrist is anyone who denies Christ. Literally, anti-Christ (against Christ). The Antichrist will be a man who is so charismatic in his denials that he leads the majority of the world in his antics. He will be considered a great, benevolent, and wise world leader by most people, and they will be willing to overlook the atrocities he commits upon those who refuse to renounce Christ, probably for the same reasons that "good Germans" overlooked Hitler's atrocities.
But the Antichrist will still just be a man, a man who lives out the worst in human government totalitarianism. The Antichrist is not Satan. Scripture makes it quite plain that the Antichrist will be a man.

That he and satan are a boogey man created to keep fearful people in line, and that the closest approximation to the anti-christ was a roman emperor, Nero I think it was. Biblical scholars, non-christian ones I think, have the theory that a lot of the imagery in revelations deals with ancient rome.
